2nd Cowskin Prairie Book Festival

Cowskin Prairie Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, will host the 2nd Cowskin Prairie Book Festival on Saturday, September 24, 2011.  This is during the Grand Lake Association's annual Pelican Festival (Sept. 23-25, 2011). 

The Pelican Festival is held in the Grove Community Center, which was the location of last year's Cowskin Prairie Book Festival.  This year our book festival will be in Celebration Hall of the First Christian Church.  The church is located at 4th & Grand, across the street south of the community center.  This venue is smaller than the community center, but the proximity to the Pelican Festival activities makes it an ideal location. 

Cost is $15 for half table (4 foot) and $30 for full table (8 foot).  A few electrical outlets are available. This is strictly a first come-first served situation.   

Hours of the book festival will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (Set-up 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) Admission will be free to the public.

Registration should include address, phone number, email address, website (if you have one), name of your book(s), genre, and brief summary.  Everyone will be featured on our website again this year, and will be added to the website as soon as possible after registration is received.  A photo of yourself and image of the book cover can also be included.

A list of area hotels/motels and RV/campgrounds is included below for your convenience.  The Grand Lake Association office stressed the need to make early reservations because of the Pelican Festival.
