Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park

The public is invited to a special memorial service at Elm Ridge on Sunday, September 11 at 3 p.m.  The service will take place in front of our 9/11 Memorial, which is located directly west of the entrance in front of the funeral home.

Michelle Rosado, who was on the 95th floor of Tower 2 the morning the planes struck, will be our keynote speaker. She'll reveal how she escaped the building and how the events of that day impacted her life since. Michelle and husband Randy are co-authors of the book "Pursuing Your Destiny", to be released in August. Copies of the book will be available at the service for purchase, and Michelle will be on hand to greet the public and autograph copies of her book. Muncie Firefighters Eric Wilson and Dan Burford will perform the National Anthem and other selected songs during the service, and Muncie Mayor Sharon McShurley will also take part.

The week of the service, Elm Ridge will place 3,352 small American flags around the memorial to represent those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The memorial, built in 2005, is two glass towers that light up at night, and a bronze memorial plaque sitting amidst a pile of rubble.
