Event Description

Feel the mystical magic of the ghost orchid as its 14 buds open at Corkscrew Swamp, high in the cypress canopy. Made famous by D.K.Christi's mystery novel, Ghost Orchid, this orchid plant has broken all records for the rare and endangered species.

First sighted in 2007, D.K.Christi followed every nuance of change for the three summer months of its three bloomings two years in a row. Inspired to write Ghost Orchid, she remains enamored of this beauty that has already bloomed once, early this year.

Pickup a copy of Ghost Orchid in the Corkscrew Gift Shop, local B&N stores and all online print and ebook stores and follow the characters in search of the perfect subject in the perfect light. Feel the cool breeze as you approach the ghost orchid. Is love eternal? If you can't travel to the ghost orchid at Corkscrew Swamp at the edge of the Everglades, reading Ghost Orchid will give you an armchair experience. NPR reviews praises Ghost Orchid for the beauty of the Everglades that shines through on every page; the ghost orchid the heart and soul of the story. www.dkchristi.com

You may want to pick up a copy of Ghost Orchid as an ebook at Fictionwise and google Ghost Orchid Naples. There are some fabulous photographs - also by googling Ghost Orchid images.

The Corkscrew Swamp ghost orchid is unique. It has more blooms at one time than any other ghost orchid - ever. Wish you could visit for additional painting inspiration. Obviously, I'm obsessed!

This is serendipitous. Although I cannot attend your event, I am painting and have decided my next projects will be a series of small canvasses of individual types of orchids. I have been greatly drawn to paint the Ghost Orchid. I believe that will be the first in the series. Again, although i cannot attend, thanks for sending your message. It has cemented my choice of subjects.
