The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I talked to a publicist today and she suggested getting my book reviewed by bloggers. Has anyone had much luck going this route?

I do short blurbs on the New Great Books blog. I'd be happy to do one on your book. One reason that blogs are popular is that they are syndicated, so that they are spread all over the web much faster than static webpages. So, if someone has an RSS reader, they will see blogs and other RSS content, but not necessarily static websites.
Hi Peter,
So that's how they work. I had read mostly diary type blogs and couldn't believe the things people say on the Net. But now learning that these can work as a marketing tool is fascinating. I'll send you my novel. It should be ready in a couple of weeks. Would the ebook version be ok? Or do you want me to mail the paperback version? The paperback version should be ready in December.

I've just started a review blog - Novels Of Note! blog http://novelsofnote.blogspot.com/

Also there are other great review blogs

There are more, I'll just have to find my list. :o)

Hi Anne,
Thank you for your feedback and resources. These look great.

Hi Julie,

I know quite a few authors who have had a lot of success with books reviewed by bloggers. As a matter of fact, The Four Hour Work Week gained a lot of visibility this way. It is work to find the reviews, but can be well worth it.

Hi, Julie,

I've had good success with blogger reviews. Try Long and Short Reviews at http://www.longandshortreviews.com and Blue City Romance at http://www.myspace.com/blue_city_romance They've reviewed my books, and I thought they did a good job.

Thanks,
Elaine Cantrell
Hi Elaine,
Thanks so much for the feedback and the suggestion. I really appreciate your kindness.

Julie
You're quite welcome, Julie. I hope it helps.

Elaine
