Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for He hath torn, and He will heal us; He hath smitten, and He will bind us up. After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight? Then shall we know if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Today's message is another call to repentance by the prophet Hosea as many prophets had done throughout the Old Testament that continued through the New Testament and is continuing today and will remain until the end of time.

If we pose the question, why was it necessary for repeated calls for repentance? Sin causes a separation from God and His love for His people motivates Him to call for repentance. God desires an intimate relationship with His people, but even with that sincere desire, He punishes sin.

While being punished for our sins God still loves us, and when true repentance occurs God heals and showers us with His love and affection. It is noteworthy to say, true repentance brings all believers into the knowledge of God where we reap the benefits of His protection, and never-ending love that flows as steady rain. Rain symbolizes His spiritual blessings.

Repent and live in the light and love of the Almighty God.
