The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hi, I'm looking to find a good agent but I'm hesitant about submitting anything to agents out of my local area. How does one go about finding someone good? I have two books published (e-format) that are part of a trilogy but would love to find someone willing to push to see my books into paper. My hubby is wanting me to self publish but I know nothing about that nor am I any good at promotion & marketing. So far all my reviews have been outstanding. Thanks.

Maggie, regardless of how your book is published, you will have to become good at marketing it if you want it to be successful. That's the reality of being an author nowadays. Begin learning and practicing these skills now. Your agent (not necessary for non-fiction books) will only do so much. You should also be reading up on the appropriate agent for your kind of book. You will discover on this journey that, in many ways, writing the book was the easiest part. You have a lot of work ahead of you. Good luck!
