I Am Looking to Make Some New Friends & To Read Some New Blogs!

Hi,

I would like to see what you are doing in the big bad blogosphere. Making new friends, seeing what others are reading and writing is fun for me.

I am offering a follow for a follow, but with a bit of a twist: Feel free to stop by my place and tell me what I can do to improve my blog. Please be blunt, totally honest and hold nothing back. I may not like it, but when you get close to something for so long receiving some constructive criticism helps.

Also if there are any new widgets you think I can add, social media destinations I should be at,…please mention them also.

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah my blog: http://www.gelatisscoop.blogspot.com

I look forward to hearing from you. Hit me with your best shot.

Giovanni,

Overall, I think you site is very nice. But, to be blunt, as you requested, I think the text is kind of difficult to read in places. I personally prefer a light background with dark font but your black background with white letters works too. I noticed that, when you use green letters, they blur a bit. I can read them but anyone with lesser vision probably would have to strain their eyes.

Thanks ,I am going to overhaul it next week using the suggestions I received. It is nice of you to help, I appreciate it very much.Have a great weekend.

Giovanni, you've obviously been doing this for a while and your blog clearly is oriented towards book reviews. It might benefit from an up-front clickable page where you explain what you're blogging about, what types of books you review, and so on. My own is quite a different concept (I'll edit my signature in a mo to include a link to it) and I've only been doing it for a few weeks so it doesn't have nearly as much material.

The suggestion of a "this is about" page is because different readers are interested in different books, and I'm thinking it's probably best if you explain up front where you're going with this.

By the way, I think the black-on-white format works very well and you did good by following Patricia's advice.

EDIT: oops, no signature supported on this forum apparently. Well, here's a linK: http://brianrushwriter.wordpress.com/

Good idea, I have authors from all over the board on my blogtalk show, fiction and non-fiction alike, so that makes plenty of sense. I will get my people on it immediately. Wait, I don;t have people. I will do it. Thanks, I appreciate it very much.

I think with something like this we get to close to it. I value the input.

Hi Giovani, just went to your blog.

I like the light colored background, but what's with the rips in the paper? This, to me, suggests old and tattered.

What is the theme of your blog? This should be apparent immediately. Romance books?

Also, for your posts: GRAB me with an exciting title.

Break up your graphs ... this makes it easier to read. BOLD some key words to direct the eye. Most people don't have much time to read ... so they skim.

Here's a link to my blog: DARK DEEDS, where I write about serial killers, stalkers and domestic homicides

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it very much.

I will use some of your suggestions in the future.
