Mark 1:24

...Let us alone; what have we to do with thee; thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us? I know who thou art, the Holy One of God.

The setting for today's topical discussion is Jesus during His earthly ministry casted out unclean spirits in the synagogue in the city of Capernaum where He encountered a man possessed with an unclean spirit (v. 21).

The synagogue was a place of gathering and after the Babylonian exile it became a Jewish place of prayer and worship. Jesus was teaching in the synagogue with power and authority when the man with the unclean spirit recognized Jesus as someone out of the ordinary (v. 23). See, the devil knew Jesus and His mission. The unclean spirit wanted no parts of Jesus, because he knew he would be destroyed by being casted of the tormented man and the man would be made whole.

Jesus' mission was to heal sin-sick souls and heal physical illness as He did on many occasions. When we call on the name of Jesus He is still healing all manner of diseases. If we need Satan casted out of our lives call on the name of Jesus; ask Him to come into your live.

He is the holy One of God who can and will heal, redeem and save. Jesus is the holy One of God as He was sent from God to be the Savior of the world.

Jesus Christ our holy One of God who is God.
