Why is it that there are beautiful women who have become “commodities” instead of beloved wives?

Have you heard the story of the less lovely wife who had already buried two husbands? What about the story of an attractive woman who have many lovers, but no one legitimate and respectable husband?

My two-cent observation is that the less attractive woman tends to be more submissive to her husband than the one who is blessed with good looks. Man’s weakness is that he is willing to give all his salary to his obedient wife who is showing to him the inbox of her mobile phone.

The Bible requirement is for the wife to be submissive and obedient to her husband and for the latter to die for her because of his love. (cf. Eph. 5:22-33; 1 Peter 3) But the man won’t give his life to a rebel-wife.

The primary question is: which has to come first: the wife’s submission or the husband’s love (FYI: The woman is not required to love her husband biblically, but just to obey. God understands better the heart of a woman. We find it in Titus 2:4: “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior. . . teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands.”)?

I believe that the wife has to prove first her submissive and obedient attitude and character to her husband before the latter would become willing to die for her.
