This is the premise of this foundational book that will build faith, instruct believers in sound Biblical doctrine and provide a keen understanding of God, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

His Sunrise My Sunset: A True Story of Love and Loss by Jan Hurst is written as a wonderful tribute to Steve her devoted husband and to her enduring love for him, God and to their family.

Endearing and captivating, Hurst goes back to their younger years, giving a glimpse into their sweet love that bloomed over 44 years. A love story that was a unique beginning that filled both their lives with hope for the future and a satisfying family. Both coming from dysfunctional backgrounds, they both felt a strong connection and safety with each other during their dating period where friendship and trust were a solid foundation. These two just loved being with each other.

Then one day tragedy struck as they set out on a retirement trip. She writes from her heart with the theme of sharing her great love for Steve and the life that they lived. Encouraging others that life is not guaranteed and that none of us know what tomorrow will bring, she hopes and prays that others remember to put God first. With a nice touch she ends with the original Serenity Prayer from Reinhold Niebuhr.

One cannot help but notice the immense love and admiration that the author had for her husband. This book is not only a testament to their enduring love, but really gives an example of how a couple can grow together, revealing that love is the bond that is unbreakable. This is such a sweet story of love, life, and her feelings going through the process of widowhood that would help anyone who has experienced such a loss to come to grips with all that is thrown at them. Unfortunately, her telling of the hospital’s protocols and procedures is a revelation of the coldness and perversity of our system. Truly, they could of asked that question first!  (You will see as you read the book.)

This is a highly recommended read for those that enjoy true stories, shedding light on what love is supposed to look like between a couple.  Blessings to you and your family Jan!  I would say you are lucky to have experienced such a great love!

Miracles: Your Impossible is Possible! By Gary and LeeAnne Dyck give their accounts of God doing the miraculous in their lives and in the lives of others. From a returned earring to multiplied food, from angels transporting lost items back to the authors, to real-life accounts of Heaven, this book reveals realms, miracles and that God is in the business of doing miracles. First beginning with a little background on their upbringing, both husband and wife share how God has intervened, revealing that He cares about the little things, the big things and everything in between. The point of writing such a book is so that others would understand that they can believe God for miracles. Even the impossible!

This truly is an amazing book, to hear of such unbelievable miraculous things happening in the everyday life of two believers (and that of other believers and churches), not only stirs great faith, but shows how good our Heavenly Father is. These true accounts all come from the eye-witness accounts of the authors. As the book continues to reveal, there are many, even in the Church, that just don’t believe in the miracles after they happen. After reading this book, one just might consider that those “kinds” of miracles only happen to select people. As readers will learn, God gives to all. They include at then end of chapters a quick prayer, simple and to the point. They insist there is no “magic” formula. It is God who does the miracles!

A highly recommended read for those that want to believe God for more, for the impossible and I guarantee you will read this through in one night!

In a time not now and in a world not of our own... Kerys of Ansgar is a young woman with a lot on her mind. She's in her last year of studies at University, and it's exam preparation week. I cannot recommend this book enough. . . why? The author states the Truth (and offers Biblical, yet down to Earth advice) without being overly critical or judgmental. He lets people know the real pursuits in life, and gives a practical pathway to get there. His book is also based on firm Biblical principles of the Kingdom of God that will lead to increased peace, fruitfulness and joy. With that said, this is an easy-to-read book that brings to light scriptural truths in layman’s terms, that will lead to righteous living. Reading this book will bring God’s blessings for those that follow through with an open and obedient heart. I also believe this book is going help those that are stuck in the mud to get out while they unlock their true potential in their God given destiny. Get your copy of Destined to Be at Amazon.

The Gospel According to Job by Jerry McRaven takes a deeper look into the book of Job to help readers understand and enjoy the book of Job.

Little Sister’s First Christmas by Bob Connally shares a short and endearing story from the perspective of TJ, Maria’s 7 year-old big brother. This year, it’s Maria’s first Christmas. TJ really wants to make sure his little sister has what she wants for Christmas. During a trip to the Mall and a visit with Santa, TJ decides that he must take charge for Maria (since she can’t talk) and write Santa a letter! Santa said that was fine as long as he sends the letter before Christmas Eve.

Life was really busy after that with decorating, Christmas cooking and school plays, that he forgot.  All of the sudden Christmas Eve arrived.  TJ felt guilty and feels like his sister won’t even get a present for Christmas at all. He continues to worry and wonder what to do. He even has bad dreams about the way things could end up.

.

During the course of all this going on in TJ's mind, his parents are unaware of what TJ is experiencing and all of those feelings of guilt come out Christmas morning and TJ finds out that his fears were unfounded. Maria received many presents from Santa and all of their grandmas and grandpas. 

.

TJ draws a special picture for Maria of the yellow hippo that TJ believed Maria had wanted that he saw in the Mall. Hearing those first words, “Big Brubber” made all the difference as TJ learns the value of love. Love is special. It is to be cherished and on Christmas, the most important thing is to have love and unity in a family. 

.

This story encourages all to be a family, and to love one another deeply, to love Jesus, to enjoy going to church in a simple genre – through the heart and soul of an innocent 7-year-old boy named TJ.
