Title: Abduction Chronicles
By: Folarin Philip Banigbe
A CBM Christian Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars
.
“It is in moments of trouble that we know the value of true friendships.” Folarin Philip Banigbe
.
Abduction Chronicles by Folarin Philip Banigbe relates a touching, spine-tingling, non-fiction account of his own abduction experience. Touching, this novel will captivate you as the author relates each encounter as he was abducted from his home in the middle of the night in his home country, Nigeria.
.
He narrates the book and speaks of the events and his thoughts during the ordeal that paint a vivid picture, giving readers an inside view of the home invasion that quickly became life-threatening. Taken by thugs, forced to endure and overcome exposure to elements, lack of food and harsh weather, his abduction shares how God encountered him in his darkest moments. Triumphant, he came back from the evil of perpetrators seeking money to re-tell the truth of what really happened during his days gone missing.
.
Beginning his narrative of the moments when robbers cut into iron bars to get into the home, the author’s account is a minute-by-minute thrill ride. Readers will find themselves asking, what would I do in such a situation, faced with a Ak-47 and no weapons for defense? The author’s quick thinking throughout his abduction makes for a fast-paced and compelling read. In a unique fashion, he blends his prayers and thoughts to God, coupled with the Holy Spirit’s workings within the ordeal.
.
Author quote; "Spiritual insights into this abduction include: core values of The Full Gospel - Jesus and the salvation He brings, the Holy Ghost, the Voice of God, visions and dreams, and the Power of God to save and deliver."
.
As an added bonus, the author’s wife and daughter give their own accounts of the home invasion and days waiting for the author’s return. Intense moments are captured as the wife shares dialogue through phone calls and demands for ransom money that made each day’s dealings with Folarin’s captor’s delicate. Despite the raging emotions, Folarin’s wife gives thanks to God who gave her the peace and strength to survive the barrage of emotions a wife might have for her husband.
.
Folarin Philip Banigbe has come out of the ordeal a better man, teaching others to help abduction victims through his foundation. A wonderful read.

This book is a fantastic way to tell kids…don’t go surfing if you don’t know how. ~ CBM
.
Little Bit & Big Byte: A Day at the Beach by Craig T. Feigh is a colorfully illustrated children’s book depicting love-able characters and their pets that introduces children metaphorically to computers and the dangers of surfing the Web. Creating word pictures, namely, that the Web is much like a huge ocean, parents can use this book as an aid in educating their children about computers and the Internet.
.
Simple, fun and cute, children will make the connection to the Internet and the main parts of computers with each page. A hidden image of a bone on each page makes the book fun and interactive (secretly my favorite part). With adventure, Little Bit and his crew set out for a day of play at the beach. Little Bit Romie, the main character alongside Click, Browser (the “chip’s” pets) go to the beach with his big brother, Big Byte. Joy, his sister, Kay Board and Webster also join in at the beach to build sandcastles.
.
With little notice, trouble comes through sly characters Vi and Russ, who are looking to crash any party. The author creates a unique and creative “day at the beach” which is saved by a big wave…thankfully. Memorable and inspiring, this little book will help children understand to surf intelligently and with skilled “know how.”
.
Children and parents alike will love the illustrations, giving way for parents to teach their kids about computers. The author has presented an ingenious way to speak the dangers of surfing the Web to young children that they will enjoy.
.
This little book comes highly recommended to all parents when beginning to educate their children about computers, or when school starts children on computers.

This book is a Last Days’ warning to the Church. Stating that the return of Jesus is near, the author asks a poignant question, “Will Jesus be coming for you? Or, will you hear him say, ‘Depart from Me. I never knew you.’ ”
.
This is a stern warning against complacency perpetuated by wrong doctrine. In this book, the author presents fundamental teachings that will help one discern the Kingdom of God, and what is required to enter. Digging deep into Scripture, the author journeys, records and comments through a resounding amount of teachings and scripture verses, offering an overview of the main elements of salvation and the Kingdom of God. Sound Biblical doctrine remains the focus to include the parables of Jesus. Developed through much study, one would do well to read this book and discern for themselves and ask, Are they going to Heaven or have they been deceived either by self, the world or both?
.
With discernment and insight, this book has 64 chapters explaining who goes to hell with many other teachings explaining the temporal and the eternal. While that may sound daunting, the book is laid out well, giving each chapter its own subject title. Making each subject easily understandable, the reader will understand what the Kingdom of Heaven is like, understand Who Jesus is and why we need to be re-born into the Kingdom of God, understand who goes to hell, and so much more, while offering fresh revelation, insight and inspiration into our inheritance as believers in Christ. One will come away knowing the paradigm of the two co-existing realities: the Kingdom of God in Heaven and on the Earth. Additionally, both the New and Old Covenant teachings are also included within the book, which gives readers a firm grasp of the curse of death that Adam brought and the new life Jesus offers through His death on the cross.
.
Influential, powerful and most importantly Biblical, this book is full of wisdom for these Last Days to becoming a pure and spotless Bride that Jesus is returning for.

The First Seed by David Witman is a colorful and beautifully illustrated children’s book depicting an old oak tree (as modern academia) and a little boy who have an interesting conversation. The little boy is able to look up to this big oak tree and ask, “Where did you come from and how did you get to be so big?” The old oak tree answers cordially, and has the same answer back to the boy every time with the exception of different seeds the tree came from. Question after question, the little boy asks and asks, until he finds out where the original seed came from.

.
With a series of answers, the last question that the little boy asks cannot be answered. Parents can answer for the book to dispel naturalistic views and introduce that the first seed came from a eternal being, namely God, who created the very first seed by intelligent design.
.
Helping children recognize the systematic problem with “conjecture,” this book makes children think. Pointing children to God as the Creator of everything contained in the Universe, the author dispels evolution (and naturalistic views) brought forth by Academia’s as the ultimate and true fact.
.

With wit and a curious little boy, the author teaches children that we didn’t just “magically evolve” from one thing into the next thing as our science books are teaching our children as fact. The author has given children just enough knowledge of plant life and DNA to help them understand God and Science, and that God created all DNA and plants.
.
This is a wonderful story to share with children to make them think about our world, and help them understand that God created all things. Beautifully written.

Mat with only one t by Jeff Thomas is a beautifully told and illustrated story of Mat and his grandpa. Endearing, Mat talks about his grandpa from the time grandpa spent with him when he was born, to summers fishing with grandpa, continuing with all the loving lessons that his favorite grandpa taught him! With a rhyming saying, “Give a smile and give from your heart, and your gift will keep giving even when you’re apart,” and a memorable ending, the book displays many heartfelt sentiments. In the end, grandpa passed on which makes this book a special read for those little ones dealing with the loss of a grandparent. His giving of a “t” in his name symbolizes salvation and is an opportunity for parents to tap into the salvation message. (Little ones can see the shadow of a t on the grandpa’s back that makes for a lasting mental impression).
.
This book opens the door for honest talks about the cycle of life and how much we love our loved ones. This children’s book also is one that children and parents alike are not likely to forget. Although, a sad ending, the story speaks of reality to some and may help children to cope and understand with the difficulties of a losing a loved one. Parents might explain that Heaven is a place where we can see our relatives after we all have gone to Heaven.
.
This book comes also highly recommended for a child that may have lost a beloved grandparent, and to Christian parents that would like to talk about salvation to their children.
.
The author has done an excellent job in taking a delicate matter and leaving the reader with a touching story that will always be remembered. Mat giving his “t” should remind us all just how much Jesus loved us for giving us His salvation.

Science Deepens Faith: Jesse’s Miracle (expanded edition) by Thomas McAvoy describes his challenge through to victory upon the diagnosis of his wife, Jesse, with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) - a little known cancer. His journey not only changed his life, but also changed others by the beginning of research to propagate the cure for this little-known cancer. Triumphantly, this book relates how a few dedicated people can make a difference in this world! Thomas McAvoy honors his wife’s passing by embarking on this unbelievable journey to find a cure for this cancer that is usually fatal. In his endearing autobiography, he shares his grief, his wife’s legacy and life, their love story (married for 41 years), and the author’s firm commitment to finding a cure. Within this, he also makes a resounding discovery: faith and science can co-exist together!
.
Upon receiving the diagnosis of PMP, four sections explain first the search, and later detail the research and what is known and unknown about the disease PMP. His findings relate to readers an intersection of a spiritual, philosophical and medical investigation. In concise manner, the author further relates to readers how his loss triggered faith. He also answers many perplexing questions such as: Why does God allow disease and evil? How does science prove or disprove his findings about faith in God, explain disease and sickness? All the answers led him to understand that God created the Earth that we live in. In fact, science and faith, do not disprove each other, they compliment each other. His book relates this and that religion and science speaks of a Creator who designed our universe with such precision, that this precision and design, comes from none other than God Himself.
.
In his book he researches such theories as the: Big Bang Theory, astronomy, evolution, physics, to include Scripture that reveal answers to questions we all have had. His research and hard work culminate into a twelve year long research of the disease, along with many noted doctors, scientists and research specialists. It’s this kind of persevering spirit despite tragedy where people’s lives are changed for the better and new inventions and discoveries are made to save the next person suffering. Inspiring and educational, this in-depth look at PMP, and Jesse’s miracle, make this a memorable autobiography.
.
In particular, this book may have a powerful impact on those who have experienced grief and loss from disease; written from a man who lost his wife, and instead found that “science deepens faith!” 10.0 out of 10.0 stars

Caught in a Cycle by Amy B. Crowe tells a delightful and humorous story of a young boy named JJ and his cycle that led him to the “wrong side of the bars.” With a smile, it is my pleasure to recommend this book as the author has addressed relevant issues that children face everyday in a memorable and funny way. Filled with witty humor, readers will love Amy B. Crowe’s writing style as she combines life-lessons of always telling the truth instead of lying as JJ finds out and that bullying is never a good idea. This is a fantastic, fun and memorable children’s book that is filled with wholesome life-lessons that reflect a Christian perspective, brought to life through vivid illustrations. Children and parents alike will adore this little children’s book.
,
JJ begins by telling one little lie just to get out of being bullied by the school bully, Bo. Finding himself spouting off one lie after another just to get out of the first lie, he was finally “caught” by his mom. Explaining that his first lie was only to get out of being bullied (which seemed like a good idea at the time), JJ then realizes that each lie just led to a bigger lie; until he had weaved an unbelievable story of his talents and his dad as a policeman! Caught in a Cycle is certainly an appropriate name!
,
Cute and funny, the author weaves the innocence of little JJ with humor kids and parents alike will love that teach them that there is only one way – tell the truth, all the time. And that being a bully also bears punishment as both kids will never forget the punishment, from the “wrong side of the bars!” Read on and you will see what that means.
,
This book comes highly recommended for Christian parents with young children that want to teach them good morals that telling lies and bullying is never acceptable behavior and that there is only one way to be, truthful and kind.
,
As an added note, this author writes with such simplicity and childlike humor, fully develops scenarios and characters that are to the point, but downright laughable … Perhaps, the book will bring back some of your own “hilarious childhood moments and memories.”
,
Highly recommended as it addresses the issues children often deal with in a funny and light manner that also relay, choices have consequences.
