The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I recently sent an email to Leapfrog outlining how much more profitable they could be if they made the "tag reading" system open source.

I looked over their website and unless your a well known, best selling author, or have a well known character, you have no chance of getting your book tag enabled.

I also looked into the technology. The technology uses an infrared reader to read the word and match it to words and phrases that are downloaded from a computer. The unit hold 16MB of audio.

Imagine if we, as children's book authors could write a book, record some audio and sound effects, and create a Tag enabled book.

Now I know there are those who think LeapFrog Tag takes away the "reading to my child" aspect of the parents responsibilities... I do not. I think they can be used together to help the child read.

What are your thoughts?

Here is an article about the Leapfrog Tag.
This one goes into more detail about the technology.
Apparently it's "special paper".

I still think Leapfrog could increase their sales by teaming with POD companies allowing them to expand their library.
