Writing children's books is a most rewarding experience. The joy that comes from knowing, that your story, put a smile on the face of a little one, is heartwarming. The tale being read to them, will impress them and teach them, while they listen to, or read the words, of a children's book. As an author, I feel blessed to be able to touch the lives of children, by the tales I write.

Hello everyone, I've just joined your group and hope there maybe someone with some experience/knowledge about teachers selling their own work in their school. I've just self-published my first book and I'm expecting the delivery tomorrow, so I'm quite excited as I'm sure you can all remember. I intend to sell my book to raise funds for my school and wondered if there was anyone who could advise me as I don't want to find further down the line that I'm taking advantage of my position as a teacher. I've started a discussion as you can see.

My main goal is to write books for children with special needs, chronic illness and learning challenges. I have already completed my first book and have the illustrations done - I do have an agent who loves the idea of me writing a series. I also publish an on line newsletter for these children and writing an e-book on resources for their parents.

Hello!
I am a first time children's book author. I was recently inspired to write a children's book title "The Tale of Eartha the Sea Turtle". It is based on the real life rescue of a sea turtle named Eartha.

The first book shows children how ocean pollution can harm marine life, and how there are those people out there that do care, and care for injured animals.

As a nature photographer, I also have several real life photos of Eartha and will include one in an Authors Special package.

You can read the real story of Eartha on my blog.

Glad to be here. I hope to learn and to teach where I can.

Hello everyone,
I've just joined this group and am pretty excited to be a member. At one time I was the owner operator of a small day care / nursery school in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. I left the school in the early 90's to pursue other interests. Regrettably after 25 year in business the school was recently forced to close when the church where it was housed was sold.

In my time with the school I frequently wrote original children's stories which were used as part of our program. Writing for kids was a very gratifying and enjoyable experience, which I have missed.

Recently I have begun working on a series of children's stories but have been distracted by other business activities. Finding this group however has re-stimulated my interest and made me put aside the time and get back to writing for kids once again.

I am really looking forward to be a member of this network
