The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Are you tired of people asking you how your "little book" is coming along? Or saying "Writing is such a nice hobby. I've always wanted to write a novel too, but I am just too busy"?

Here is your chance to gracefully share a little bit of your frustrations (among your Christian peers) about how friends or family members don't always understand your writing career.

Be nice, play fair. But if you're tired of the phone ringing at all hours and people saying, "I know you're there. Pick up the phone" even though it's your writing time, this is the place to share.

We'll offer support and understanding!

My husband and six grown children are bery supportive as are several of my firends, however, my aging parents have never thought uch of y writing. I really think that faily members and others tend to think if you don't get up and go somewhere else to an office that you don't really work.

The key for me has been to take charge of my time and block of my time when I'm available for socializing and other activities. When I became more emphatic about my writing being a business that requires time and attention, it helped others to be more aware of my time. However, that said there are still some people who pat you on the head when you say you're a full-time writer.

For some people it made a difference when my novella, Rebekah Redeemed was released by the publisher recently. Prior to that everything I had published (10 books) were ghostwritten and my name doesn't appear on them so they didn't seem to count.
