Glory Story by Keisha McGeachy is a short book (38 pages) of inspirational poems that offer readers  wisdom, insight and deep reflections upon life, the glory and triumphs, the sorrow and the pain, coupled with “selah” moments in beauty of nature and creation, in family –  giving Glory of God as her title denotes.

.

Culminated from her daily and life experiences, her book is real, honest, and touching. Considering some of the most complex subjects, readers will get a glimpse into some facets of inner emotional life and thoughts that they can glean from and learn from.  She relates to all. that we all have something in common – whether it be in relationships, being “a Daddy’s girl” or relating to Heaven above, we all share our humanness together. She also relates her views upon the world and materialism that present thought provoking attitudes about life, the pursuit of the “American Dream,  death, poverty and living in the present.  Her poem of the butterfly (along with others) captures the imagination with a beautiful description of the graceful butterfly, as do many others that encourage and inspire to rise above circumstances and to look to God.

Impactful and powerful, the author has also intertwined scriptural truths from Scripture and the book of Proverbs that relate all walks of life a reverence to God, life and liberty that peace in Jesus offers.

This is a wonderful book reflecting one woman’s life experiences and reflections given to God and His Glory, that also recount  the value of inspired Scripture and a life in God to bring beauty, remembrance and gratitude to the forefront.

Offering insight into the spiritual realm, the author writes an amazingly unique Christian fiction filled with insight into the spiritual realm as she depicts the Scripture based on John 10:10 (NIV), “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  Depicting the suffering she faced through her battle to good health, the birth and death of her handicapped son and Heaven’s intervention upon her behalf, faith, miracles, angels and the demonic realm reveal to readers a story that is not only heartbreaking, infuriating, and intriguing, but gives hope as Sylvie finds new life in revived health and a deep resolute faith in God as her Healer and Savior.

Born premature, Oliver, is sickly from birth. After several weeks, it is discovered that Oliver has severe physical and mental handicaps that cut his life short at the age of 10. Sylvie and her husband, Neil, are devastated when they discover that an asthma drug given to Sylvie during pregnancy could have caused Oliver’s condition.

Through fiction, Alison presents her years of struggle with her own health and that of her severely handicapped son, Timothy.Capturing a mother’s loving heart and complete devotion to her son, the author sheds light into deception into the medical industry, unveiling that it is not the “cure-all” that people believe it to be.

From a nutritional perspective the author learns her sensitivity to gluten, and that the human body is designed to heal itself – with the right nutrients. Hold Your Breath and Hope for the Best

Do you enjoy reading bedtime stories to your child? I love that time at night when we can just curl up, put the day behind us and escape to the world between the pages. What happens when that world is hard to read or has material that may be funny to your child but is rude or obnoxious in some way. I go to the book fairs and struggle to find kid’s books that will be appropriate for my kids to read but still interest them enough to read it. I want my kids to be captivated enough to finish it and would it be too much to ask to teach them something as they read? A moral, a value, a lesson that can help them be a better person, a better friend, more respectful to adults?  I love the kid’s books that slip it in there and they don’t even realize they are learning something as they read.

.

Have you ever sent them to their bookshelf to pick a book and you wait nervously holding your breath that it’s not certain ones that make you want to roll your eyes to the back of your head and sigh? All you can do is hope for the best that they choose wisely. It makes reading time much more enjoyable! There are certain ones I can read over and over because they are so cute and I love the story line when it very subtly throws in a little lesson or a way they can be a better friend or do their best or include others or never give up. They don’t even realize they are learning a valuable lesson. To them, it’s just a dinosaur who was accepted for who he was even when he couldn’t breathe fire like the other ones.  Or it might be a raccoon who was there for a friend when he needed one.

.

I love it when I come across a word and say, “Do you know what that means?”  My son shakes his head and I get to tell him the meaning of it and increase his vocabulary while we’re reading. Reading is very important to me and I want my kids to enjoy reading because it opens their minds up to a wealth of information and imagination. If kids can develop a love for reading kid’s books while they are younger, then as they get older, that love will hopefully grow and continue to increase their knowledge in so many areas of life.

.

I took my passion for reading and my desire for my children to have a book that not only interested them but also provided a valuable lesson and I created Changed By a Catch. It involves a typical young boy who loves to get into mischief but through the book learns that his parents actually do have a reason for rules. He finds out the hard way to never underestimate others or judge them because of who they are. Strangers are not allowed in the house and fruit punch does not come out of white dogs very easily! Changed By a Catch is a humorous kids book that touches on many lessons throughout the book while providing a chuckle here and there from the main character JJ and his crazy antics. For those of you with girls, JJ has two sisters who are in the book as well and teach JJ several lessons on forgiveness and strength.

There is a gap in our gospel that is creating an environment of division along the lines of race, class, ethnicity, culture, language, age, and socio-economic status. But deep down in the core of our being is a VIP Light that wants to shine to bring the broken pieces together. Songs have been composed about it; sonnets and poems have been written about it; philosophers have pondered on it; and prophets have spoken of it.

The cross section of humanity in all social structures of women, children, and men from all cultures, languages, and color cry for this light to shine. If this light is to break out and pierce the pockets of darkness in of our social structures (family, education, business, media/politics, arts/entertainment, government/military, and religion), God's VIP Christians will have to lead the way.

When Jesus asked "Who do people say I am" Peter said "You are Christ the Son of the Living God."
