My memoir "Lost Hopes & Shattered Dreams

As a U.S. Marine Traveling through Spain, I was implicated and accused of a crime I had no part in. This is a true story. On the first night in a strange country, I met a couple of Sailors that took me around and showed me the Naval base and the town.

　This memoir is about how these Sailors tried robbing a cab driver, and how I stopped them.　I was scared and ran away, and I did not report what had happened to police. The next night, the sailors got caught robbing another cab driver. When arrested, my name was thrown into the mix of the attempt of robbery the night before.

My second Day passing through Spain trying to get to my ship in the Mediterranean, I was arrested by military police and handed over to the Spanish authorities. From there, my 3.5 year nightmare began… the pre-confinement, trial and sentence to 5 years in a foreign prison for attempted robbery. The American government acted as if their hands were tied, and there was nothing they could do. I was young, scared, traumatized, and locked in a prison. There are stories of rape, as well as the struggle and abuse I endured throughout this time in my life. This book will show the personal and political drama I endured while being locked up in a strange country for a crime that I was innocent of.
