Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, etc.

New to the group and community, so I'm sure this "has been said, many times, many ways", but just in case:

Don't drop your marketing during the holidays. If you still haven't sent out your cards yet (or as you compose next year's mailing during the year), don't forget to at least mention your book(s). This is already postage paid, and you never know who knows somebody, or will mention it to a potential buyer - if you remind them.

I just posted my video interview on Today's Author With David Ewen where we discuss the true story behind my novel, "Painting the Invisible Man."

Hi all... love all the comments, and learn a lot from them.
I am English based, ex-British Forces ( Army ), and my first book ' Poems for Paula ' is mainly a collection of Military Poetry written by myself, but includes Cancer Poems, and humerous ones.
Try my large website, and turn your speakers on.

Hi, glad to be a part of this group. The first book in my new Booksicals line of kids books will be released in December 2008. Booksicals is a line of kids books that will also be available in the form of musical narrations for live performances and on an interactive website. I look forward to networking with anyone interested in the children's book world, literacy for kids projects, and musical theatre for children.
I look forward to your comments and interactions.

Hello--I joined this group because I am e-pubbed and my first release is Nov. 21. I have a spiral notebook crammed with promo activities and appointments, and soon I'll be inundated with all this. Somehow, my dream of being published and then sitiing back didn't work out. The author must do a great deal, even though it's mostly on-line. I know I can't do everything, but I will work to promote myself. (I write Western Historical Romance for THE WILD ROSE PRESS.) I'm looking forward to reading everyone's posts. hello, Lets hope that this will or might just help. I am writing this on the behalf Of Hugh Harrison, who is an Author, in Godalming Surrey. He has written his first ever childrens book. The Adventures of Rufus the Red. @£4.99 plus postage. But we have had to sell it ourselves or try to. I still have copies left. Our Local Smiths in town are the only ones who have been helpful. We have tried book signings but nothing seems to be working at all.If I go to a larger store they will rip us off and we might just as well Give this little book away. We went self Publishing ( Never again ) regards Amanda Harrison

Hi Fellow Authors,
I would really appreciate anyone who has time to read the latest review of my novel Shades of Gray and leave a comment for the wonderful reviewer at: http://printedpage.us/2008/10/29/shades-of-gray-a-novel-of-the-civil-war-in-virginia-by-jessica-james/

Hello, I'm J.L.,

Check out my booktrailer.
It's a very simple one, and it's in Dutch. I'm from the Netherlands, 37 years old and i wrote a book about selfpublishing. I'm used to visiting American forums about writing. They are more numerous and way more informative than our writerssites.
Could you do me a favor? Could you comment/view my trailer?

The music is played by a friend of mine, i love how he plays the guitar.
I also have a website at www.schrijfeengoedboek.nl. I made it with a sitebuilder program. Very very easy to do. I can change the look anytime i want. Right now i'm doing all kinds of stuff to promote my book. I also just made some marketingcards at vistaprint which i will try to spread in library's etc.
If you want a karikature avatar you can make one here http://www.vistaprint.nl/vp/ns/caricatures/editor/choose_type.aspx?xnav=Tab&alt_caricature_id=18206-35494-5F8
I'm always looking for free promotion ways. I also use web 2.0 a lot. Here in Holland Hyves.nl is very popular.
Well that's all folks for now :) Lovely site!

Hello! I'm a professional author's assistant with a niche in social media marketing. I help authors promote their books using strategies that incorporate Web 2.0 tools. I am also a member of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA, actually I'm the Admin). I look forward to reading more about book promotion from all the members of this group!
