SOME RESOURCES TO GET THE BALL ROLLING

This is a new site/forum for self-publishing. You can add your book with link and covershot from the main page, then enter the forum to post again in the promo thread. While there, take some time to look around, maybe post some expertise (with your link in your signature). It's a growing source of good data on publishing already and you can get in early.
Self Publisher's Place

This site specializes in POD publishing services. They also have a great chart comparing many of the main players as to price, features, etc.
Books and Tales

This page is a classic among self-published marketeers, a rapidly expanding list of places you can list your book for free, getting backlinks to your site in the process. The main site has lots of other tips and info, as well.
Bauu Institute List of Listing Sites

There are several books on self-publishing, but this author doesn't mind giving you a lot of information right on his website. And he knows a LOT, very detailed information on all aspects of doing your own book.
Aaron Shepherd

Finally, a man who needs no introduction on this site, the founder of BMN. His book is a classic in self-marketing and he also gives a lot on his website. A classic page is his famous "Self Publishers Hall of Fame"...it's amazing how many great authors published their own work at one time or another. Some scholarship here, and it's as historically interesting as it is boosting for the self-esteem of the self-publisher.
