So.
Anybody here doing any adapting of scripts to books or books to scripts?

I converted two screenplays to novels last summer and am marketing them. I've also done screeplays based on incomplete novels.

Anybody else?

I adapted my screenplay to a novel because I had done two years of research and wanted to "fill in the blanks" and use all the material I thought so important to the story but couldn't use in the movie because of time constraints. The novel and screenplay is "September Dawn," currently one of the top DVD rentals in the country. I had never written a screenplay before and didn't even know programs like Final Draft existed. Check out my new offer on this website.
You realize that all the struggling screenwriters out there would cheefully choke you for that? :-)

That's a remarkable acheivment. Congratulations.
I owe it all to God's grace and mercy. I was fortunate to have Chris Cain as my co-writer and he taught me how to write a screenplay. Since then, I've used wonderful editor/teachers like Pilar Alessandro. I optioned a second screenplay, hope they're able to get it together to make a movie. If not them, then when the option runs out, I'll try another production company. I hope for your sucess. I think there would be better quality movies out there if production companies and studios would take more of a chance and go outside the box and try a new screenwriter who doesn't write according to a formula.
I am doing the same..

Is THE CHARLOTTE GUSAY LITERARY AGENCY legit?

I got a request from THE CHARLOTTE GUSAY LITERARY AGENCY. They want to charge me $35.00 for processing fee. What do you think? Is the fee worth the representation?

Chau, all I know about that agency is what you just told us. And that's enough to say they are scamsters. Legimate Agencies don't charge, they sell work and take a percentage.

Thing about it, if an agency can get money from all the thousands of hopefuls, what is there motivation to work on selling scripts?

In this particular case, the agent has a good reputation, so it's kind of on the bubble.
(See this discussion http://misssnark.blogspot.com/2007/02/author-pages-at-publishers-ma... )

Pesonally, I would not pay any agent to read a script.
Linton,
It's not the script they want to read. It's the novel, THE NAISA MAFIA,,
Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with this but I have heard of that agency. Wishing you the best
I am also a script writer and presently with the help of my friend Llyod i am rewriting my script

Hello Padma

Good luck with your script.

Let me suggest that you join zoetrope.com it's Francis Ford Coppola's site for writing review and I think you'd find it extremely helpful.
You review 4 scripts (educational in itself) in order to get a review yourself. There are also many forums and groups for discussing screenwriting. Many there are quite accomplished and knowledgeable.

There are several screenwriters from India on the site.

Good luck with your project
Thanks for tip
Oh yeah...! I've written 7 books and have 17 screenplays to cover them

Destiny of the Divas (published) Three two hour (approx) episodes
Destiny of the Divas II (unpublished) Three two hour episodes
The Misadventures of the Devers Brothers (published -short stories) 6 screenplay shorts
The Misadventures of the Devers Brothers (published) 1 screenplay feature length
OVERTURNED (published) 1 screenplay
KASHMANTOU (published) 1 screenplay
Let Freedom Ring (published) 1 screenplay
Mountain of Love (published) 1 screenplay
I would be interested in your input of my factual book to put to fiction for film then then to a fictional novel. If it is a good match and the procedure etc.
