Thrillers and why we love them!

Mysteries and thrillers (for the moment, let's table the fine points of difference which are endlessly debated elsewhere) are essentially puzzles. There is a crime or crimes. Who did it or will do it? Why? Will they be caught? Will there be more crimes? Will the main character solve the case? Will they survive? Unravelling these issues is the joy for the reader. Putting together the puzzle is the fun for the author.

Hello Published Writers!

My name is Nicole Trist and I write a book review blog called Books, Books Everywhere where I write all about the books I am reading, I run giveaways, I conduct author interviews and I do reviews on request.

If you would like me to review your book just come and have a look at the blog, email me a synopsis of your book and I will reply asap.

NB. I do not accept eBooks for review and reviews can take up to 6 weeks to be featured on the blog once the book has been received, depending on how many requested reviews are in the works.

Cheers!

Green Power get Positive Reviews
Finished it today, and give it a thumbs up! It has elements of an action thriller, environmental thriller, romance novel, and tear jerker in one spot. Almost historical because almost all of it takes place in 1989, with a short chapter at the end bringing us up to the present.
Well done, and recommended reading for those who like to read a mix of science fact, action and romance, and a little 1980s history in dramatic fiction. Well developed characters, and even though we know the answers to parts of the medical thriller and crime drama, it is fun to have the various characters find the answers.
There are a few points of slight errors, but nothing serious enough to take away from a great reading book. The expertise of the microbiology science more than made up for that. Five Stars.

Since everyone is concerned about our environment and global warming, a new subgenre in thrillers has surfaced. It’s been called environmental, enviro or eco thrillers. Michael Crichton’s “State of Fear” might fit into this category. However the recently released action filled thriller, Green Power, by Charles Vrooman truly belongs to this new subgenre. Going green and bioterrorism are at odds with each other in this novel. Scan the synopsis below and see if you agree that this novel fits into this category. Also, feel free to list any books you think can be classified as environmental thrillers.
Synopsis:
After the renowned Microbiologist Dr. Ray Pendleton leads a demonstration to close down Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant, Ray is assaulted by two of Dirk Hendrickson’s fellow Delta Valley Militiamen. Ray survives the beating and is motivated to set up Methane Digesters as an alternative source of electrical power for Lodi dairies.
Dirk’s continued attacks on the professor and his projects results in a death threatening epidemic pointing to one of Ray’s methane lagoons as the cause. The infected patients are admitted to UC Davis Medical Center. Linda McCord, a lab tech at the hospital and former student of Dr. Pendleton, works with Ray to prove that the methane power source is not the cause of this spreading disease. Both Ray and Linda develop a romantic relationship while working together. Linda is devastated when Ray develops a serious infection from the bacterium causing the epidemic.
