Thrillers and why we love them!

Mysteries and thrillers (for the moment, let's table the fine points of difference which are endlessly debated elsewhere) are essentially puzzles. There is a crime or crimes. Who did it or will do it? Why? Will they be caught? Will there be more crimes? Will the main character solve the case? Will they survive? Unravelling these issues is the joy for the reader. Putting together the puzzle is the fun for the author.

The Starlight Club III by Joe Corso

Fantastic mixture of action and politics.

The Starlight Club III

As a daughter, when your father allows you a glimpse into his past, telling stories which help you understand the man he has become it’s an honour. So, when Bobby Valentine visits his daughter Lynn she cannot resist asking for just one more tale about his life at The Starlight Club. How can a father refuse?

Set in the early sixties with John Kennedy as President and Bobby Kennedy as his Attorney General.

Getting to President is no easy thing, strings have to be pulled, deals made, the right introductions and for all this, there is a price to pay. Promises made by others are not binding, some people believe, and Bobby Kennedy calls on Agent Lonegan to recruit mercenaries who become rogue “Federal Agents.”

When the time honoured rules and promises are broken the Mafia are not happy and retaliation is the name of the game. Who did kill John Kennedy?

Along with new characters, all our favourites are still here from the rest of this brilliant series of stories, and their lives evolve in it.

With an exciting story line, which encompasses murder, mystery, boxing, politics and much more, Joe Corso has written yet another classic.

Let’s hope we see a Starlight Club IV soon.

Christian Espionage Novel Released

The Christian espionage novel entitled Heart of Terror was just released.  One reviewer called the book "a well-written, engaging novel".  He went on to say: "The story is a low-key, solidly written account that reveals some of the inner workings of the Muslim world in Iran and Saudi Arabia...  The story is engaging and flows smoothly in a steady rhythm...  It is an entertaining and thought-provoking story."

Heart of Terror is available as an ebook as well as from the usual outlets like Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Happy to announce that “POWERS NOT DELEGATED” http://www.powersnotdelegated.com is this week's Southern Writers Magazine 'Good Read' selection

"POWERS NOT DELEGATED" A political thriller of our times...what could have been and might still be. At times, our Republic needs patriotic men and women who understand and embrace our Constitution, follow its guidance and embrace its values. Now is one of those times.

Here is the back cover copy for my new thriller MELTDOWN:

FROM THE AUTHOR OF “THE SHENANDOAH SPY” AND “THE QUEEN OF WASHINGTON”, AN ALTERNATIVE HISTORY THRILLER FOR OUR TIME!

The early reviews are in:

An intense, militaristic drama centered on a plot against a U.S. nuclear power ’s (The Shenandoah Spy, 2008) alternative history novel take place in a fictional U.S. between the Oklahoma City bombing in 1997 and 9/11. From the first beat of the novel...the tension hums. The alternate (hostile, frightening) America roils with lay militias encroaching on civil and governmental authorities... fortune favors the prepared in Hamit’s novel....An overloaded, high-adrenaline read...

Experienced writers have this uncanny ability to pique your interest and move you along without your realizing that you are going on a journey led by a masterful storyteller.   “MELTDOWN” is an “alternative reality” calling attention events that might take place if there is a failure to take adequate precautions. This is a five star book, extremely well written, entertaining, informative, and definitely an adult novel because of its graphic descriptions and some sexual overtones, which add to the story.

★★★★★
A Riveting Political Thriller. A terrorist attack on a nuclear power plant--it's a fear that many people and governments have had since 9-11. And it's a fear that is at the heart of Francis Hamit's riveting political thriller, Meltdown.  It's a roller coaster ride until the exciting conclusion. If you like your reading with an edge to it, you're going to want to read this book.
