Good Day Authors,

Looking to sell more books? The Author Collective has just organized two new book festivals which are certain to help!  The 2011 Michigan Spring Book Festival happens April 15th through the 17th at Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia, Michigan and The International Urban Book festival, Cleveland takes place May 13th through 15th at the Richmond Town Square Mall in Richmond Heights, Ohio. We have rented the entire mall for these festivals and expect to have lots of book lovers and book buyers in attendance.

There will be workshops, seminars, panel discussions, classes and lectures on many topics in the field of literature. These learning sessions will be free of charge to public and will provide insight on writing, publishing and marketing books. We will be sending invitations to patrons from the Detroit and Cleveland area school systems & libraries. R2Books and other sponsors will donate 1,000 book certificates to deserving students in each of the two cities. These certificates are good for one free book and must be redeemed at the festival. Many of the student with free book certificates and their parents, will look to purchase additional books and meet the authors in attendance.

Do you love selling at book festivals but hate the rain, cold and the wind that almost always happen during an outdoor event?  Join us for our indoor festivals which will span the entire common area of these shopping malls. Interact with the more than 10,000 shoppers who visit these malls everyday. Author applications are now available on our websites.  Click the links below or call me to reserve your table today!

Look to see you there.

Good Day Fellow Authors,

Looking for a great place to sell books? HURRY and grab a table at one or both of these events. The Michigan International Books Festival takes place October 29th through 31st at the prestigious Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia, Michigan. It's an upscale fully enclosed mall with 15,000 daily shoppers looking to make purchases. This mall is anchored by Von Maur and Parisians department stores, both of which caters to an affluent consumer. Join Actress and Author Victoria Rowell as she sells and signs her book, "Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva."

The International Urban Book Festival, Detroit is the first book event of its kind in the area. Detroit and its suburbs combine to place the buying power of more than three million multi-cultural consumers in the front of your author's table. The Northland Mall is the perfect venue for this inaugural event. This enclosed mall has more than 2.5 million square feet of retail space with anchor stores Macy's and Target. 10,000 plus daily shoppers walk through Northland's doors looking to shop and support their community. November 5th through 7th are the dates for our festival and the beginning of the all important Holiday Shopping Season. What better time to place your books in the faces of potential purchasers?

Why a shopping mall? Simple; any author who has returned from an outdoor festival with soggy inventory will agree that a place where there can be no rain out is perfect. Top that with current the indigenous shoppers and you've hit the jackpot.

Be an author/vendor amongst the many attendees looking to buy what you have to sell, BOOKS. We will have literary workshops, lectures, conferences, panel discussions and classes. Everything from how to self publish your manuscript to eBook conversions. Did I mention celebrity authors? Yes, expect well known authors to be there selling and signing their books and greeting shoppers.

Author tables are only $225 for each weekend. Space is limited so don't delay. Log onto www.internationalbookexpo.com and choose the festival that you would like to attend. Click the link to download the "Author Application" fill it in with your isbn's, contact information and you'll be on your way. We even made it convenient to pay the fees right on our websites. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Remember spaces are limited, so reserve your table now.

Further information can be obtained by calling (313) 446-2262. See You There!

Growing up poor in the small town of Vicksburg, Miss., Alexander Devereux didn't have much. But there was no lack of remarkable personalities, each of whom left an indelible imprint on his life. Gar Fish & Long Gravy collects the stories, insight, tragedies, and uproarious wit of an unforgettable cast of characters. Meet Granmama Lia', whose hard-won wisdom on life, love--and mistresses--is dispensed to in her kitchen to her beloved grandson, sometimes over Johnny Walker Black. There's Ms. Peaches, who raises chickens in her ramshackle hut yet might be one of the richest people in town. Big Daddy is an imposing hulk, but his massive frame hides a vulnerable past and humiliating secret. Ms. Annie Laurie is a fabulously wealthy white woman who never had children of her own. But her love rains down on young Alexander. And that's just for starters.

Based on real-life experiences, Gar Fish & Long Gravy is about the mistakes we make, the loves we share, and the stories we tell each other that make us who we are. And it is the touching story of a boy who ultimately breaks free of the poverty and abuse of his extended family, yet never forgets the important lessons he learned along the way. As Grandmama said, "If sense were common, everybody would have it."

I'm working on my own personal revolution, I'm a Nichiren Buddhist. Nichiren Daishonin anticipated all the self help, and self development philosophies in the 12th century. The practice of the Daishonin's Buddhism is the most powerful and direct means of personal, life and spiritual transformation.
I'm a pround member of the SGI and a disciple of Daisaku Ikeda.

I am experiencing a personal transformation. As a creative person at heart, I am trying to steer my ship to waters where I can fully embrace who I am - a novelist, a storyteller. I am working ever harder to manifest my dreams, where I can make a living through my writing, so I can focus on that exclusively. I employ the Law of Attraction daily as I try to draw the people and events to me that I need to make this happen.

It's great to see forums like this where other people are also experiencing a transformation. It is a magical thing. I believe this type of thing is happening more and more around the world, that things are changing, people are waking up, realizing they want more than the average experience, that they are looking to grow into their full personal potential, whatever that might be...
