This book is a fantastic way to tell kids…don’t go surfing if you don’t know how. ~ CBM
.
Little Bit & Big Byte: A Day at the Beach by Craig T. Feigh is a colorfully illustrated children’s book depicting love-able characters and their pets that introduces children metaphorically to computers and the dangers of surfing the Web. Creating word pictures, namely, that the Web is much like a huge ocean, parents can use this book as an aid in educating their children about computers and the Internet.
.
Simple, fun and cute, children will make the connection to the Internet and the main parts of computers with each page. A hidden image of a bone on each page makes the book fun and interactive (secretly my favorite part). With adventure, Little Bit and his crew set out for a day of play at the beach. Little Bit Romie, the main character alongside Click, Browser (the “chip’s” pets) go to the beach with his big brother, Big Byte. Joy, his sister, Kay Board and Webster also join in at the beach to build sandcastles.
.
With little notice, trouble comes through sly characters Vi and Russ, who are looking to crash any party. The author creates a unique and creative “day at the beach” which is saved by a big wave…thankfully. Memorable and inspiring, this little book will help children understand to surf intelligently and with skilled “know how.”
.
Children and parents alike will love the illustrations, giving way for parents to teach their kids about computers. The author has presented an ingenious way to speak the dangers of surfing the Web to young children that they will enjoy.
.
This little book comes highly recommended to all parents when beginning to educate their children about computers, or when school starts children on computers.

Contrary to the contemporary mantra that America was birthed as a secular nation, the historical evidence demonstrates that America was founded by Christians who wished to enjoy the liberty to freely express their Christian faith. Lamentably, Christians have forgotten and neglected the Christian heritage bequeathed to them by America’s Founding Fathers and have allowed secularists to disparage and deny what was given to them at such a great price.
.
America’s Founding Fathers and the Bible briefly describes a portion of America’s Christian heritage, particularly during the rise of nationalism when America was shaping its national government. During this era, the Founding Fathers affirmed both the principles and practices of the Bible. By no means exhaustive, this work demonstrates that America’s Founding Fathers clearly intended to perpetuate the Christian faith, in both private and public observances. The Founding Fathers left a legacy of publicly honoring the principles of Christianity and fully intended that succeeding generations of Americans should do the same.

Cole’s Perfect Puppy by Frances M. Crossno is Book One of the Perfect Puppy series.
.
Written for young readers, (ages 7-12), this book teaches core Christian values through a delightful, compassionate and sometimes humorous story-line that parents will love.
.
Cole and Caleb are brothers. Their parents are photographers for a world geographic magazine, thus they live with their Uncle Bobby. Cole, the main character, desperately wants a puppy for Christmas. He finds the perfect puppy, but finds out along the way that hard work, treating others right and loving your neighbor as yourself are more important than his own wants.

Chapter one begins as Cole finds and falls in love with the perfect puppy (Scarlet), which is a golden retriever that he finds in a mall pet store. Packed with action, the little puppy escapes from the pet store and after a wild chase, young Cole and the mall security guard finally catch up with the fast pup.  Christmas morning comes and Cole is elated to find a “moving” present under the treeTo his utter shock, his Uncle Bobby has gotten him a quite a different present. One he was not expecting! His little brother Caleb can’t stop laughing as Cole finds him on the floor in an unstoppable belly roll. (You’ll have to read the story to find out what the pet was.) The story goes on from there as lessons are learned by the characters. The author gives help and hope from a Christian perspective that relate to life’s sometimes disappointing circumstances that can be overcome.

This book comes highly recommended (and is an award winning book) that offers clean and wholesome reading for children and preteen readers. Themed with a simple storyline that is encouraging, innocent, well-written and sheds light on the Jesus, salvation and the scripture, “Give and it will be given unto you . . .” parents will appreciate this adorable book. The humor is much appreciated, as well as the author asking the question, “What would Jesus do?” Thus leaving room open for discussion. A wonderful story that teaches some valuable life lessons!

*This book would be a great gift for the Christmas season, but is recommended for any time of the year.

Healing Hands, Healing Heart: The Dr. Eleanore Kue Story shares one woman’s amazing testimony as a culture changer and how God led this woman from Cameroon, Africa to the United States to become a doctor, missionary, church planter and pastor. Her story is truly remarkable, and she is a gift from God to those she meets and treats in her health clinic in South Lansing, Michigan, providing physical healing, but also to the heart, mind and soul through the preaching of the Gospel and Jesus.
.
With an amazing ministry and calling, Dr. Eleanore Kue’s health clinic has provided more than 45,000 medical appointments to over 15, 000 individuals in the 8 years it has been open. She treats the underprivileged and uninsured, the poor, single moms, drug addicts, those who are homeless, drug dealers, gang members, ex-convicts and prostitutes. Dr. Eleanore Kue is an inspiring woman who believes in ministering to the “whole” body, treating not only the physical, but the spiritual and emotional as well.
.
Intertwined in the pages is her life story, including her upbringing from a dysfunctional, nominally Christian home and the culture she was brought up in, in Africa. Her life has not been easy and three attributes have been to her benefit, as mentioned by the book’s forewording author, that have kept Dr. Kue from not growing weary in well-doing. They are: courage, tenacity and compassion.
.
Reading this book will help the readers understand that this “perseverance” is what needs to be developed if they believe they are called to ministry. This book will delight and impress you, as this woman is one determined lady.  She truly is an inspiration and one of God’s trophies! She is a model to those who call themselves servants of God as well. Her strong work ethic and dedication to prayer, are also quite noteworthy!  And her work ethic is an inspiration to mom’s all around the world…truly amazing!
.
The book focuses on the reader, in that each chapter is designed as interactive devotional, challenging readers with discussion questions to probe into their own lives, bringing healing, forgiveness and restoration. Her book is written with a sense of discovery for the journey to one’s purpose in God, life and their world around them. With a “Survivor’s Creed” readers are encouraged to press on in God.  She gives understanding to women and encourages them to find their identity, security and freedom in Christ. She also addresses issues in life that weight us down, helps readers to identify and the book gives hope to solutions, setting a Biblical standard for marriage and relationships.

Jaclyn and the Beanstalk by Mary Ting is set in the 16th century, giving a new twist on the old fairytale of Jack and the Beanstalk.
.
Jaclyn, along with her mother and father have a quaint life in the country, until one day Jaclyn eavesdrops on a private meeting held by her father and other villagers in the dark of the night. As a backdrop, Jaclyn has been hearing haunted voices whom she thinks are demons trying to get to her soul. These nightmares become a large fear that she fights inwardly. Facing Black Mountain, monsters, with elements of mythical tales from the past, her worst fears are proven. But with determination and a profound love for family, she advances as a strong, almost princess warrior.
.
Jaclyn is the heroine in the story, somewhat different from most girls her age, and at the tender age of 16, she wanted to find love first before settling down into a housewife role, as expected by society. Jaclyn is independent, witty, fun and stubborn all at the same time. She knows what she wants and desires, and being more of a tomboy, prefers pants instead of dresses. Her passion for life burns ever brightly throughout the story, as readers find out that many a day was spent training on how to wield a sword with her father.
.
Tender words of wisdom given by her father, adventure, suspense, a dreary dark side with a curse and a twist make this a delightful story for young teens seeking their path along life. “Lead with love in your heart”, are some words to live by given by her father seemingly inspire, teaching that life is a journey wrought with trials, but good times do come like the sunshine. Knowing your heart, truth and love, all give this story a strong steeping in Christian values. With a strange take on the Roman soldier who pierced Jesus’ side and a telling of Mary Magdalene, Jaclyn finds out a long held secret in her family’s life. Still, love overcomes all evil in this wispy, fast-paced novel.
.
Mary Ting writes with an adventurous heart, a clever pen, introducing young readers to a classic that meets fantasy, shedding light on the family devotion and a love story that buds to completion by the end.
.
This short novel comes as a highly recommended read for parents and young adults that prefer fantasy fiction with a Christian-based theme and a creative perspective.
.
Mary Ting is one of those writers to notice and watch. For further information about the author and her books, visit Tangled Tales of Ting. You may get your copy of Jaclyn and the Beanstalk at Amazon or in Kindle as a download.

The First Seed by David Witman is a colorful and beautifully illustrated children’s book depicting an old oak tree (as modern academia) and a little boy who have an interesting conversation. The little boy is able to look up to this big oak tree and ask, “Where did you come from and how did you get to be so big?” The old oak tree answers cordially, and has the same answer back to the boy every time with the exception of different seeds the tree came from. Question after question, the little boy asks and asks, until he finds out where the original seed came from.

.
With a series of answers, the last question that the little boy asks cannot be answered. Parents can answer for the book to dispel naturalistic views and introduce that the first seed came from a eternal being, namely God, who created the very first seed by intelligent design.
.
Helping children recognize the systematic problem with “conjecture,” this book makes children think. Pointing children to God as the Creator of everything contained in the Universe, the author dispels evolution (and naturalistic views) brought forth by Academia’s as the ultimate and true fact.
.

With wit and a curious little boy, the author teaches children that we didn’t just “magically evolve” from one thing into the next thing as our science books are teaching our children as fact. The author has given children just enough knowledge of plant life and DNA to help them understand God and Science, and that God created all DNA and plants.
.
This is a wonderful story to share with children to make them think about our world, and help them understand that God created all things. Beautifully written.

Intertwined lives brings a surprising alliance with God and friends at Alliance Lake.
.
Six teenagers grow up fast as they have to cope with a tragedy that has impacted the entire small town of Alliance, Ohio. Time continues on and so must they. It is time to face the real world. The author offers a reminiscent read that captures past eras, presenting hope, inspiration and encouragement ~ leading others to a renewed life in Jesus, the Son of God.
.
Alliance Lake: Be Still
by Timothy Jay takes readers back to the 70’s and 80’s, an era long gone by. A time of innocence in America and a time of being a teenager in the 80’s, and young adulthood in the 90’s. Filled with humor and the “old days” nostalgia, mentioning out-dated technology (rotary phones, boom boxes, and arcades, this novel makes remembering these things an enthusiastic and fun experience traveling down memory lane.
.
Lovingly dedicated to those on their own journey and to those who relied on their own understanding early in life, only to come to a deep dissatisfaction with the outcome, having walked crooked paths (Psalm 3:5-6), this book challenges teens, (and adults alike) to deepen their walk with God. Ushering an understanding that He is a loving God, and they can move forward after tragic loss. Evil is in the world, but it does not overcome us is one of the themes that play throughout the book.
.
Alliance Lake: Be Still
highlights God in the midst of individuals’ lives and brings them to a place of peace and stillness – slowing down to hear from God.
.
A wonderful Christian Fiction Novel and must read for the 40 and up crowd! 10.0 stars out of 10.0 stars

If You Truly Loved Christ, You Would Be Keeping More Than Just Ten of His Commandments by Lord S.G. Vanwells speaks to Christians, providing information, and thus encourages maturity in the Body of Christ by helping others to understand what Christ’s commandments are through the application of biblical wisdom.
.
His book speaks to the believer who understands that becoming Christ-like means that you “Do” His commandments, taking seriously the call to be set apart and made holy, just as Scripture denotes that all believers are to partake of becoming Christ-like. First stating that, “The primary goal of this entire writing endeavor . . . is to build your spiritual and heavenly worth by conforming to God and Christ’s stated biblical wishes.” The author builds on Biblical and Hebrew roots of Jesus (Yeshua), using the two names interchangeably. Thus, offering insight into the rich biblical history, location and roots of the Twelve Tribes, to include the branch of religion we call “Christianity”, asking, “What Does it all mean to love Jesus and follow His commandments?” Therefore, challenging modern-day believers to “re-think” what sin is and what does it mean to be righteous.
.
To ask that question, one must know what the expectations are from Yeshua (Jesus). With that in mind, the author takes readers on a journey and offers a look at what Jesus’ personal biblical requests throughout Scripture, and offers commentary and an overview of the Messiah Himself. He also gives a fair warning of controversy in the beginning of his book as well, as this subject is the center of controversy and has been for many years.
.
The book does give readers a plethora of information to consider: concerning Jesus, Israel, the Twelve Tribes, blessings & curses, the roots of Christianity (to include many of the holidays celebrated today in America, with additional information on the Catholic priests and a common Catholic mistranslation).  With such chapters as: What is Sin?, 248 Positive Commandments of the 613 Commandments/How Yeshua was Sinless, 365 Negative Commandments of 613 Commandments of God, Problems with Paul, Common Christian Misinterpretations, Promised Blessings and Curses (Signs of Judah), Why Yeshua Died for Israel’s Curses and Sins, Where are the Twelve Tribes Today?, Honorable Mention, (with included cites, notations, bibliography, and webography, and links). This is an insightful, often surprising, and historically inclusive book of many unknown related data regarding historical dates (such as Christmas), and Roman ties to idol worship that readers will find unbelievable, yet verifiable.
.
Most importantly, the book points out that if you love Christ, you will do His commands.  A CBM Christian Book Review ~ 10.0 out of 10.0 stars
