What I Am Reading

Much like its newer counterpart entitled All Hail The New Flesh, this original collection of Dystopian Science Fiction pits the reader against eleven unique tales by various authors in the genre. If you have read my previous review of Flesh and have had a chance to submerge yourself in its wicked agenda of horror and science fiction and have emerged from its insidious depths craving more, then Tuned To A Dead Channel is a must read.

Just to wet your appetite a bit, imagine an England of Victorian era where a massive earthquake has split the island in two. Ravines of infinite depths have swallowed the oceans and travel between Britain and France must be traversed by airship.

Some time into an unknown future, faulty droids will be discarded in The Scrap Yard. One man;s garbage can become another man's treasure...if he has the correct spare parts. In another glimpse of a possible far future, the colonization of other worlds will lead us to Outreach Thirteen, where we will stumble across an ancient but seemingly primitive population that at least has the sense not to awaken an indigenous creature that is as old as the planet and nearly indestructible. In yet another tale of dystopian future, The Explosive Class Struggle Of Terra Vista, you are either a Citizen or a Blink:upper or lower class. If you are a Blink and you do not like your lot in life, you can always try your luck outside the protective walls of the city-a sure death.

I really would love to go on and on, but what I preclude now will lend that much more satisfaction to your disturbed cravings when you navigate your mind through the uncharted bounties awaiting you...
