    Hi Jim,

Good to meet you. I work with kids with a video I did on TN death row called, The CHoice Is Yours. It's the five men on death row talking to the kids, telling them why and how they found themselves on death row.

They don't make excuses for themselves, but tell it like it was. They did wrong. They did drugs, alcohol, did crimes and got into gangs, committed crimes and as such someone was killed.

They tell what it's like to be on the row, waiting to die and knowing how it will happen and when it will happen. IT's quite effective. Then I tell the story of my two sons and it's reached so many kids who siad they would change their lives. www.thechoiceisyours.org

If you'd like a copy of the dvd, send me your address at my email sdicks@blomand.net and I'll send it to you. Perhaps it will help at the schools you go to.... shirley

    Hello Jim,

Thanks for the comment and kind words about my books. I tell people it's just like eating an elphant, you do it one page at a time, one book at a time. I've been building a body of work for a long time and slowly it has happened. I'm grateful. Keep at it yourself.

Thanks for the message. Both series are going well and one is almost finished, and the other is just getting started. You might want to speak with Mark Kearney. He's from the area where I live and he started the Book Em foundation. It sounds like something you would really like to know more about. His link is www.bookem.org. His email is on the site. You can tell him that Nikki Leigh told you about him. He's eager to get the work out :)

    Hi Jim.

You're right, no shortage of ideas bouncing around in my head. One of my best friends just retired from the police force here. His name is Jim too. And since my books are primarily for boys, I get a lot of interesting feedback.

    Jim,
Yes, telling my daughter's story keeps her alive and with me. My passion is to help other young people, and their families from such a horrific fate.

    Hi Jim,

Thank you for the compliment! The book is about finding purpose, and the title represents not letting your past (failures, disappoints...) keep you from living your dream. ... I have a line in the book that goes "You can no more unscramble an egg than change the past." Which basically means you can't change your past but you shouldn't allow it to determine your future.

I hope you didn't mind me sharing this with you. I look forward to us networking together.
