Theodocial McLean

Profile Information:

Something About Me and My Book:
Bio: Theodocia McLean was born on Beals Island, in Downeast Maine, in 1954.

The inspiration for writing came from an attentive teacher at a punitive private school where corporal punishment was administered on a regular basis. If it were not for the skills that this teacher taught allowing her to escape into a picture on a postcard, she would have lost her mind.

Theodocia was married on November 2, 1974 and she and her husband have lived in North Carolina for much of their 33 years together. Her son is married and lives in TN.

Theodocia is disabled with Bi-Polar and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). She writes from her experiences and a heart to help others who suffer with mental illness. She considers herself a survivor of childhood abuse and neglect. She hopes that her writing will encourage others to tell their stories as writing has been the most therapeutic experience for her.

She has written and published seven books and co-authored one book!
