After writing my bucket list in 2003 I set my hand to writing a children's novel. When a girlfriend nagged me for a year to write Australian quilt novels I took up the challenge and self-published. Now there are 4 novellas in the Australian Challenge Quilt series, all self-published in hard copy, and a fifth being written in 2013.
And the children's novel ? After 13 rejections and then a major publishing house stealing my characters (and 11 points from my story) I decided to self publish. I need AUD$12,000 to do it right, and have put the porject on Pozible to raise the funds. It's a good marketing strategy too, because people will end up with the book in their hands.
