ABOUT ME: With a degree in art from Meredith College, photographer and Christian writer Jean A. Sturgill is a woman with a strong Baptist faith. She and her husband have two sons and live in Mebane, North Carolina.
For anyone seeking a truer perspective of life, You Are Who God Says You Are: 8 Steps to Overcoming the Past by Jean A. Sturgill is an enlightening text that serves as a workbook to read and study the Bible and one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Broken into eight steps with titles such as “FEAR: Faith and the Power to Overcome,” “LOVE: Yourself and Others,” and “SOUND MIND: Knowing Who God Says You Are,” the author unearths the tools to begin making a difference. By helping readers set themselves up to succeed through a series of meaningful journaling exercises and prompted Bible studies, she exacts a space to free one’s mind from the past to become what God expects and what He wants. To help define and articulate one’s relationship with Jesus, the author takes readers down a path of self-awareness and enlightenment for which the reader will be grateful.
The book of Genesis literally comes alive in Bouncing Beaver Discovers God by Christian writer and photographer Jean A. Sturgill. Inspired by her own children’s awe of the natural world, the author enlists the help of two young boys to retell the Bible’s creation story. Robbie and Drew are brothers and best friends. They like to play and explore everything—sometimes on the Internet. Drew even has his own website about all sorts of animals in God’s kingdom. One day, they come face to face with the precocious, spunky, and rather eager Bouncing Beaver and she quite literally jumps off the website. She has a few questions and in her quest to learn more about the love of God, the two brothers join together to help teach her about creation and that God is all knowing, all powerful and that He is everywhere.
AUSTINE CROSS
When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low,
When there is no one to talk to
And nowhere I want to go,
I search deep within myself
It is the love inside my heart
That lets me know my Angels are there
Even though we are miles apart.
A smile then appears upon my face
and the sun begins to shine.
I hear a voice, so soft and sweet
Saying, 'everything will be just fine'
It may seem that I am alone
But I am never by myself at all.
Whenever I need my Angels near
All I have to do is call.
An Angel's love is always true
on that you can depend.
They will always stand behind you
and will always be your friend.
Through darkest hours and brightest days
Our Angel's see us through
They smile when we are happy, and will cry when we are blue..
Thanks for being my Angel my friend
I will be there for you until the end.
