Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog is Deanie's fifth book. It's the third in her series of Charlene the Star books. Her other books include her award winning autobiography, Tails of Sweetbrier, as well as, Charlie the Horse, Charlene the Star, and Charlene the Star and Hattie's Heroes. All of Deanie's books encourage children to persevere and strive to do their best.

Deanie is a graduate of The Institute of Children's Literature. She enjoys music, singing, spending time with her family and their dog, Elliott. Deanie is also an avid fan of baseball and equestrian events.

Holly's passion for Art began at an early age under the guidance of renowned artist, Ray Quigley. She earned a Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University. She devotes her talents to equestrian and family portraits, as well as children's book illustrations. Holly has beautifully illustrated all of Deanie's books.
