Something About Me and My Book:
About My Book: My new suspense novel, CROSSHAIRS, is set in the wilderness areas of north-central Pennsylvania where I lived for a number of years. It is basically a story about revenge but it has as many twists and turns as the mountainous roads of its setting, the fictional Klinkton County. It is a land where scope-mounted hunting rifles are as plentiful as trees and shooting accidents are as common as timber rattlesnakes. ***** Life in Klinkton County has always revolved around deer hunting, trout fishing, four-wheel-drive pickups, and the Grizzly Snowmobile factory. But this year something new has been added -- Klinkton County's first serial killer. ***** The victims include a kerosene route salesman from Allentown, a political organizer from Philadelphia, and a local arts and crafts worker. The person who must stop this killer is newly-elected Sheriff Jesse Eichenlaub. ***** In addition to secret demons from his own past, Jesse already has three strikes against him. He doesn't like guns; he has no law enforcement experience at all; and the man he defeated in the election is now his boss! ***** The central questions that Sheriff Jessie immediately faces are -- who is the shooter? What connects the victims? And how will he cope with the expanding chaos that suddenly surrounds him?

About Me: I was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and grew up in the eastern part of the state. I graduated from Temple University with a degree in psychology and I have been writing most of my life. I started with long homesick letters when I was in the Air Force and later took a course in short story writing at Temple. After that, I was hooked on writing. ***** I've worked in a variety of genres and was also a publications specialist for a number of years with a local government. I've done press releases, audio/visual scripts, technical reports, speeches, newspaper and magazine articles, and a variety of public relations materials. I've also written a biography for young adults and several romantic suspense novels but CROSSHAIRS is my first published novel. ***** My wife Lee and I have been living in Sarasota, Florida, for over thirty years.

I miss the beauty of PA, too. I was luckly enough to go back for two book signings, that's when I realized how much I missed it there. Great to know you! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Kathleen,
Thanks for the invite! I'm pleased to be part of the circle of such an accomplished writer/ publisher/educator! I have been writing for many years, and have been published for many years, too, but haven't produced such an extensive list as yours. Congratulations! And keep on keeping on!

Hi Russ, I am familiar with the Ft Wash, Pa area the best. It seems more urban than the area where you write about. I hope the marketing goes well. I have three books published so I know how you feel. My non-fiction one, Cultur Smart Turkey, is on Barnes and Noble and Amazon. Keep up the great work! I write as a columnist for Today s Zaman an English national and international newspaper printed in Turkey and on the web. You can read one of my articles if you go to: http://www.todayszaman.com/tz-web/yazarDetay.do?haberno=120328 Hope you enjoy and are encouraged if you read it.

Congratulations, Helen, on the B & N signing! That's great! B & N can be pretty choosey sometiems when it comes to signings so consider yourself fortunate. Sure, let me know when and where and I'll see what I can do. Hope you can conjure up some publicity before the signing and then sell lots of copies!

Hi Russ -- I know what your saying about all the paper
work. It is all worth it. This is only a one time deal.
All you have to do from now on is a short synopsis on
each short you submit.
I truly love writing poetry. I have just been told I will
be able to do a book signing at my local Barnes&Noble so I am excited.

I don't have the date yet, but it will probably be in
about three-four weeks. I'll let you know if your
interested.

Keep writing.

Helen
