Something About Me and My Book:
I've been writing since 1999 and published my first novel, "Fish of Souls" in 2002. (I subsequently republished a second version in 2005.) Due to reader request, although against my original plans, I published the sequel, "Groundswell," in 2004 with the same major characters. In planning this sequel, I decide to form a trilogy, ending with "The God Tools" in 2006. The books have been coined supernatural thrillers. All three stories (as is my next novel) are set in Florida, U.S.A.

My upcoming 4th novel, "Half-Red Skull," features one of the minor characters from the trilogy. It's a departure from my first three novels in that it's a pure thriller. The following is the back cover teaser:
_________________________
A serial killer is terrorizing Northeast Florida. The murderer’s calling card: each victim has one-half of their face colored red.

On Amelia Island, reporter Fawn Cortez is planning her wedding while trying to reconcile her father’s tragic death. When she learns of a startling ancestry, it will take her intuition and persistence to unravel the clues and understand the bizarre link between the severed skull of an 1800’s Seminole Indian, the modern-day murders and her father’s lifelong search for a legendary treasure.

But dark secrets abound. Fawn will soon discover that those she depends on the most . . . cast the deadliest shadows.
________________________

You might find it funny that I've never written a short story in my life. (Well, at least not since being forced to do so in high school.) Guess I'm just a novel sort of guy.

Oh, and for any of you on myspace, please feel free and link to me at www.myspace.com/floridanovels. And if you're not out there as an author, you're missing a huge reading audience.

Half-Red Skull now available

I am pleased to announce that my 4th novel, "Half-Red Skull," is now available.

"For reporter Fawn Cortez, three disparate threads--a modern-day serial killer, the severed skull of an 1800's Seminole Indian, and a legendary treasure which her father sought prior to his death--begin to inexplicably converge. The breadth of deception that she will ultimately uncover will reveal that those she trusts the most . . . cast the deadliest shadows."

Hello Gary ~ I'll address both your concerns in this e-mail. Yes, the meetings are always open to the public and are publicized that way.

Our meeting begins at 10:30. We always have stragglers. Let's plan your presentation for 11:00 or 11:15. I was thinking of an hour with a break. That will allow time for book sales and signing afterward. We have to vacate at 1:30. Then we're off to lunch.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions.

We're looking forward to it. Have you checked the blog? And did I send you a newsletter?

Hi Gary,
Your books all sound so exciting. It sounds as if you truly enjoy every aspect of the production of your book - from the research to writing to promotion. That really comes through. I am also a photographer, and the last trip to Amelia last summer I took over 800 photographs of the area - sunsets over the marsh, the docks of Fernandina, spiders, it's all beautiful. We weren't able to make it up this summer, and I really missed it. Maybe a fall trip, I hope!
