Profile Information

Something About Me and My Book:
At Prismatic Publishing, we want your book to be as successful as you do! In fact, our ONLY goal is to help YOU independently publish and successfully sell your creation.

Prismatic Publishing is a custom publishing company. Our goal is to produce professional quality books that are marketable.

Independent or "Indie" publishing is an excellent opportunity to take control or your writing career. However, releasing your book to the public is really just the beginning of your career as an author. The real work begins once your book is in your hands. When your book arrives it is time to sell your book. Author and speaker, John Marchel, states it best. He declares that regardless of publishing method "authors sell books."

To earn a living as an author, it is imperative to treat your writing career as a business. Independent authors take full financial responsibility for their book. Doing so allows the author to reap the financial reward for a writing a book that sells well.

Our authors are valued clients. You can and should expect to work with a professional project manager who will answer your questions and help you through the entire process of publishing your book. Our goal is to provide the highest level of service and make it easy for you to achieve your publishing goals. We take the responsibility of publishing your book seriously and will put in the time to help you release a professional looking book. We encourage you to take the publishing process equally seriously. After all, it is your career.

When your book is published with Prismatic Publishing, you can be confident that you are in good company. Your book is published alongside other authors that take their work seriously and that have written compelling highly marketable books.

Prismatic Publishing is the publishing division of Prismatic Entertainment Inc.

What motivates you to write?

This is a question that I have been thinking about a lot recently. I’m a musician who is writing a couple of books with a friend of mine. The books are about “why” and “how” to succeed as an independent artist - author or musician.

I believe that internal motivation is one of the major factors that determines the success or failure of a project. You have to have a powerful “why” and I don’t think that wanting to earn money with your book or music is a good enough “why” to succeed.… Continue

If you self-publish your book are you a published author?

I read an interesting blog post today that states "First and foremost, a self-published novel does not a published author make." I find that statement most disturbing. It goes on to talk about the expectations of the author. If one just wants to put their novel out for a few friends then it is okay to use a vanity press. But you won't ever sell a "zillion" books. She also… Continue

Hi Bill,
This is some very awesome work you are doing. It's quiet an undertaking. I am undertaking the feat of writing serial material designed for coordinated multi-media use, books, graphic novel and movies, so that the material is released in all forums all at once. It's not taught anywhere , I've had to work with several gifted editors, writers and producers to get to a base platform for my work. Your music is beautiful. Congratulation on following your passion. I hope you are enjoying the fruits of your work.

Bill,

We're practically neighbors; I'm in Citrus Heights.

I really like the Indie undertones of your messaging...more down to earth and authentic. I am very impressed with the contest you are hosting as well. My 16-year old daughter is an extraordinary writer, although she tends to keep her works too close and rarely shares them. I'll let her know about your contest. Money at that age is a great incentive! : )

Glad to see Sue is taking good care of you, too.

With Gratitude,
Michelle Ulrich
