Calandra Powell is not only an author but a motivational speaker, song writer, pianist, and singer.
She enjoys motivating at-risk youth to become successful and her experience working within the Florida Department of Corrections has brought about some positive outcomes of her motivations in which many incarcerated young adults earned their High School Diploma and Vocational Certifications.
Mrs. Powell's strong leadership and positive influence has given her a reputation of great measurable outcomes of a 95% graduation rate among Adult Learners who are incarcerated.
1. "Imagine Africa", is a illustrated children book that encourages children in preschool through elementary school to love geography and learn about animals from Africa. This book can be used in a Daycare, early learning center, preschool, or elementary schools' curriculum or science class. I encourage every teacher or parent to buy this book and use this in their curriculum.
2. "Momma's Daycare" is an illustrative exciting book that helps children feel welcome into a new environment such as a Daycare Center, preschool classroom, or elementary classroom. This book as great illustrations that will be a great tool on a child's first day of school to help them feel important in class. We all know how a child can be scared to be in a class of students and teachers that they don't know.

3. "Fight To Finish", Is an inspirational therapeutic book to help men, women, and children who are dealing with the fears of rape, abuse and domestic violence to over come the pain and heal.
The author shares her experience of pain and her journey of healing through poetry. This book can be used in betterment classes such as victim impact for inmates who have suffered these issues in order to help them overcome the pain and began to heal in order to break the cycle of abuse.
"Fight to Finish" can also be used in counseling sessions for women and men who are victims of violence and abuse.
Calandra Powell welcomes invitations for her to come and speak at any organization about her experiences of abuse and her willingness to encourage victims of crime to heal. She plays piano and sing throughout her speaking and sharing or her book.
