Something About Me and My Book:
I've written a 3 book children series about my experience with a little chickadee bird who came to nest in my flower box and even the wreath on my front door. These books are written in easy reading rhyme for early readers and teach children how nests are made, how mother bird takes care of her young and how they can care for the birds in their own backyards. It also teaches children about the special bond of friendship. The first springtime book is titled, Emily Waits for her Family. The 2nd summertime book is titled, Caring for Emily's Family. The 3rd wintertime book is titled, Emily's New Home. The books also teach children that nature can be right outside their window as close as in their own backyards. Children also like the fact that this is a true story which makes it even more special. I have recently relocated to the San Diego area, where I hope to keep visiting schools with my books and telling Emily's story. They are available on Amazon.com and can also be ordered into any bookstore or through the publishing company directly at emilythechickadee@gmail.com. My website has a live webcam showing real chickadee eggs hatching into baby birds and there is also a monthly contest that children can enter.

I would bet that they were the nursery rhymes that we can still recite as parents and grandparents even today. What made them so memorable was the simple fact that they were written in rhyme. Isn't that why our children can rattle off so many verses from the Dr. Seus books today? When I wrote my three children's books about Emily the Chickadee, they were written in rhyme as a… Continue
