I have been officially medically boarded as a helicopter pilot after a near-fatal accident I had in April 2005. It has been a long and challenging recovery. But in spite of the severe difficulties I had to face and go through, I was exposed to some brilliant people and occurences. Learnt a LOT of valuable life lessons. I'm all good now!
My book Live Your Life Boldly is about the good, the bad and the ugly I went through during my long recovery.

"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition."
Sounds interesting and it sounds as though you have been through alot.
I wrote my book 5 times before sending it to an editor, took 2 months making those corrections before sending it to another editor and re-wrote the book yet again with her help.I have written to about a dozen agents and 2 publishing houses. My response has been good enough but getting them to take a chance on a new author in this market has been hard.
How are things working out with Amazon? I think they operate a little like a (POD)"Print on Demand".I have had a couple of those chase me.A good idea is to take a book you know they have published and go to Amazon and Barnes &Noble and seehow their book sold. Most POD's have books that don't sell in the top 100,more like top 1,000,000 lol-Wish you the best
Thanks for the invite to connect here Carole. I am terrified of helicopter flight. I've only been on once when I took my very bold Mom on a trip to Sedona Arizona. She loved it - I was crazed with fear we were going to crash. I'm so glad you escaped death in your accident and have gone on to write. I'll check your book out as soon as I can. It sounds great.
It will take me a while to connect with people here and find out how this network functions. I'm in LinkedIn and also in facebook and on twitter with Movies_Weddings and CarAdvice4Women. The pic of me is the same everywhere - although my hair is a lot longer now.
Back to editing our Movies About Women (vol 1) book. If you have any great women's movies you'd like to recommend, send them along and I'll try to find them to review. We'll get them into one of the volumes.
Saw your question about marketing your book. I just wrote a manuscript on book marketing which might help. If you'd like, I could e-mail you a free copy as a Word doc. All I ask is that if you like it, you put up an Amazon review when it comes out. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org .
Your book sounds a bit like one my wife is writing, about her sister who almost died (only one of several doctors voted against pulling the plug) after a traumatic brain injury. Good luck!
