Something About Me and My Book:
Devika is an Indian writer. Born in the Republic of South Africa and has found her peace in tranquility in beautiful Croatia.

The life experiences and challenges gave me more strength to move forward in a new life and culture.

''Writing opens your mind to all kinds of experiences when you believe you are hopeful in life.''
My new title The Simple Uses of Herbal Teas and Indian Spices and Herbs and Other Cures and a few more can be found on Amazon.com.
Thees are perfect guides to Herbal teas, Indian Spices, and of the rares of herbs from around the world. My greater interest on all types of herbs started from my personal experiences. My focus is to learn more about herbs and it is such a fascinating subject. I enjoy writing about my personal experiences of which you can learn more from on Amazon.com

In the many years of writing Devika has certainly created an effective way of holding a reader's attention. On various articles all of which are to the point short or long, and are just so interesting.

Let's face it an on-line reader's attention span is short and getting to know of the author's work further is no exception.

A South African Writer With A new Life

A writer that moves on to a new lifestyle

I was born in South Africa,  and due to marriage I moved to Croatia.

Nine years ago when I first came to Croatia I was blank in thought, not knowing much of the place, the language, or any other information.  This made me feel most unhappy, my life had changed like a light switch from brightness to darkness, but I didn’t give up, I had to  move on though it took me a while before I got back on my feet, for  my son and I life…

Hello Devita,

Thank you for the friend request and I'm pleased to meet you. I can sympathise a little, I think, with what it must have been like to move from South Africa to Croatia. When I was nineteen, I spent 6 months working in Germany - it was the first time I had left home, I had studied the language up to A level but had spoken it very little (very grammar based approach) and I had to find my own accommodation etc. It was a big learning experience! When my mother was 25, she married a British soldier and moved from Germany to England and, although she could speak English, I think she felt very like you when she came to the UK.

I like to write poetry and books for young children. I want to help others rediscover the wonder, fun and creativity of their childhood and to this end have just started a newsletter called "Smile more, laugh more, be a child more!" I don't know if you might be interested in joining, but there are some nice freebies, if you do - "50 ways to rediscover your inner child", colouring sheets for my first picture book "Pep, Polish & Paint" and space quizzes etc. Anyway, here is the link if you might be interested:

Thank you again for sending me the friend invitation.

All the best

Devika,

I loved South Africa. We visited b4 apartheid was reformed, that whole experience was odd in the extreme, but the country was beautiful. Sad to see such a divide between races. Creepy, really! We'd often thought of Jo'berg as being like L.A. and Capetown like San Francisco.

Do you have a Facebook page? Let's "like" each others fan page, OK? http://tinyurl.com/JackFan

I'd love to learn more about you.
