Dante D'Anthony was born in "South" Buffalo New York-the terminus of the Erie Canal, Buffalo River, and the Buffalo Harbor, a neighborhood that still retains it's 19th Century industrial sensibilities. He studied Art and Design at Buffalo State College before moving to Miami. He worked in Architectural Design Development, Education, and Finance. He has produced two series of paintings; one in a realistic genre of sea life and tropical scenes, another in an abstract expressionist mode with layers of patterns influenced by Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd Wright, Pre-Columbian art, and Japanese woodblock prints from the Edo period. He was a corporal the U.S. Army reserves, MOS anti-tank gunner.
