Hennon Gilbert, Jr. is an aspiring writer. He and his family make their home in a restored house built in 1905 in the Fairmount Historic District of Fort Worth, Texas. A devotee of Frank Lloyd Wright, his other interests include natural resource conservation, high-altitude, low impact backpacking and camping, catch & release angling, particularly fly fishing, and historic preservation of significant architectural works.
After completing high school at Texas Military Institute in San Antonio, Hennon spent four years at Texas A&M University where, as a member of the Corps of Cadets, he earned a baccalaureate degree in Marketing. Several years later he earned an MBA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, and he subsequently completed the Project Management Professional certification administered by the Project Management Institute. Hennon has worked in a variety of positions across several industries including software development, retail, aerospace defense, and telecommunications.
His current cause celebre involves the massive burden of overpopulation in the developing world, and its unavoidable result: the expected global crisis due to a shortage of fresh water. His vision is one in which one of the most significant technological developments in history -- the internet – and more specifically, the movement away from fixed point computing and toward pervasive mobile internetworking – can be brought to bear to alleviate this inevitable crisis.
