Profile Information

Something About Me and My Book:
JR Stone is a prize-winning author, screenwriter, poet and short story writer. While Stone enjoys traveling and people watching, he is widely known to be a recluse who has a penchant for writing dark stories regarding the human condition. While Stone’s novels mostly feature dark storylines, the reader may be pleasantly surprised to find the common theme of hope and relying on a power greater than ourselves to be a cathartic and necessary companion in the journey through the pages of his books.
When JR Stone sought critique from fellow writers on his latest work, he found a new legion of fans with a common thread of praise for his latest literary fiction work, “The Long Road from Perdition.”
“Your protagonist Nick tells us of the hell he found himself in and his journey from the lowest point in his life. The events of his thirteenth birthday are unfolded slowly, experienced and understood by the reader as if we were psychiatrists teasing out the back story of a young man suffering from extreme post traumatic stress disorder. Your pitch readies us for this disturbing, dark read full of misery and abuse. The way Nick is dealt with by the authorities/system is reminiscent of Ken Kesey's brilliant 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest' where the main protagonist is more sane than the world and the system around him… This journey from his unloved, unwanted and worthless status to someone who has come to terms with his past is a compelling read. I'm left with the real sense of somebody's life.”

One of the books I had the pleasure of reading was about Frances Farmer.  I had always heard the stories and even saw a clip from the show, "This is Your Life" that featured her very dark life.  She was a hopeful, shining…

An Important Review

Will he do a book tour? I'd love to meet him for an autographed copy.
