Something About Me and My Book:
The Pict, my first novel, was published by iUniverse in August, 2007. It's an historical novel that tells the story of Pictish tribes who stood against Roman aggression in what is now Scotland, in AD84. If you enjoy historical fiction or early Scottish history, you might like this story of the dramatic courage and resilience that established a firm foundation for the future of the Scottish nation and its people.

The Pict Wins Honorable Mention at the 2007 London Book Festival

I'm very pleased and honored that The Pict won Honorable Mention for Fiction at the 2007 London Book Festival. I hope that everyone who reads The Pict is as pleased with it as were the judges at the London Book Festival!

Hi, Mark and Susan. Thanks for your comments! Mostly focused on lots of research for Novel Number Two, and working on an expanded version of The Pict, since critiques and reviews of my debut novel have almost universally commented on both its quality and its brevity, and the desire for more depth to the story. I kept it short on the ample advice of countless experts that debut novels ought to be kept short; the feedback I've received has convinced me that readers can stomach my writing, so I'm encouraged to republish The Pict as the epic it deserves to be. Both new books should be published by the end of this year, if all goes well.

I hope all's well with you both, and best of luck with your efforts, as well.
