Something About Me and My Book:: I always wanted to be a writer, but I kept putting it off. On 9/11, I was a social studies teacher. I enjoyed that work, but the tragedy of the day reminded me that life is short. The following May I left teaching to pursue my dream.

My first novel, Innocent People, is a humble attempt to show the human side of the tragedy from the perspective of an American Muslim woman. The story is not about the event as much as the emotions generated by the event.

I am currently working on a series of novels, The Echoes Series. These books trace the life of Joshua Adams, a Chicagoan who becomes a Muslim after a tumultuous youth, and his friends and family. Characters include both Muslims and non-Muslims.

The first three books of the series--Echoes, Rebounding, and Turbulence--have been published. I'm working on the final two books--Ripples and Silence.

Another Season

This doesn't have anything to do with either writing or marketing, not directly, but I'm happy to share the simple news. I finished doing the taxes.

My husband is from Southeast Asia. He always contends that because this is my country, I should be the one responsible for figuring out our income tax. Of course, he's been in this country for more than thirty years so I'm not sure about the validity of that argument.
