Something About Me and My Book:
"I've faced violent storms in life," says Janet, who also lost her vision in her 30's due to Retinitis Pigmentosa. "But I found that life is not about what you cannot do because of circumstances out of your control," she says. "Success comes when you recognize what you can do with what God has given you."

"Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow: Overcoming Adversities in Life" was published in 2004. "I wrote the book because I needed to give back what I'd received-peace in the midst of pain and serenity to dispel my sorrow," Janet explains. "With a blend of vivid illustrations and a touch of humor, I take my readers through a path God has provided-from the stress we face to the success we desire."

My goal is to use the wisdom I’ve gained from my own experiences to help you achieve the same peace that fills me on a daily basis.

My book, "Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow" highlights this journey with candor, humor and insight. I believe that part of the reason God allowed the trials in my life was so I could help YOU make it through yours. This real-life illustration of hope, love, forgiveness and trust can stir the awareness within you to recognize the healing God has in store for you.

I invite you to settle in a comfortable chair and allow the pages of my book to soothe your soul.

Boy, does he smell!

Saturday was Animal Kingdom day at Disney for us. The best part was that the trip was great for my figure. I must have lost a few pounds in the scorching heat! So what does one do when it’s so blistering hot? What else, you get a crispy funnel cake sprinkled with powdered sugar and enjoy it to the fullest.

I know, I know, crazy…but sometimes we need to do nutty things. We munched on that sweet treat and headed to the bird show.

“Okay, everybody,” the bird trainer said.… Continue

"Sorry to have to ask you this."

I lean over the table at our favorite restaurant. “I need to go to the ladies room.”

You’d think by now I’d remember to take my white cane so I don’t have to bother hubby. Sigh.

“Sure, hon.” He drops his fork on his plate. “Let’s go.”

He takes me by the hand. We circle around tables and head down the hallway. When we reach the bathroom door, I hand him my purse. He opens the door, and whispers. “Go a little to your left.”

I follow his instructions… Continue

Games for the Blind

There’s no such a thing, is there? Since I’ve not found games specifically for the blind, just about any game can be adjusted to those with low vision. I remember playing horseshoes when I lost my sight. Someone stands by the target spot and taps the metal, creating the sound to guide my aim. Sighted folks use their eyes to see where to throw; I use my hearing with the same goal.

Through the years I’ve tried crazy things, even drove a car once. But last night my son invited me to… Continue

"My God Box" Blog Tour - Margaret Iuculano

Hi Friends,

Abusive homes, confused parents, ineffective system, frightened children. This scenario adds to the true crisis in our society. But God hasn’t forgotten children in these situations. He put in action an author who believes in advocating for these children and thus, through her own experience, bring to light the reality of their plight.

Her book is informative,… Continue

How to File Bankruptcy

That inquiry has become more common each day. Anxiety rises, worry presses on, uncertainty hovers above us and even the rope of job security is frayed.

You and I know this doesn't catch God by surprise, nor does He leave us without answers, solutions or ways to cope and bring back reassurance and peace.

He begins with this instruction:

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you… Continue

I send you greetings of peace and love from the rest of the family. They, like I, are always with you and never leave or forsake you. The angels and the rest of us want you to know how precious you are to us.

When I agreed to give up my divinity and be born in the flesh, I did so very willingly. I looked forward to the time when we, you and us, could all be together and share in everything that is. I looked forward to loving you, hugging you, comforting you and encouraging you so that, when your life gets tough, you will feel secure and supported enough to face whatever you have to face. I looked forward to being the one you could rely upon unconditionally for that strength, comfort and encouragement whenever and however you need it.

Not only that, I looked forward to sharing with you that we created you to love you, and that we so hoped and desired that you would love us back. We want you in our life, and we love it when you want us in yours. It was so exciting when I could turn to my disciples and expand our relationship to include friendship and true fellowship. I offer that friendship and fellowship to you today as well, and I look forward to your inviting me into your life in that way.

You can see there are many reasons why I came in the flesh so many years ago. There’s more! I also wanted to set you free from thoughts and behaviors that hurt you emotionally and spiritually. If you were hurt by people or experienced hard times in your life and lost things like your health, relationships, or your way of life because of disaster or unemployment, I wanted to give you the tips and tools as well as the encouragement to recover emotionally and spiritually from who or what hurt you so you could have the kind of life I want you to enjoy.

Most of you understand why I sacrificed my life for you and what an act of love that was. It is my hope that this letter will help you understand how very much more my life and ministry were to accomplish. I look forward to expanding our relationship now and forever.

Joyfully, Jesus
