Something About Me and My Book:: A native of Washington, DC, JESSICA TILLES is the best-selling author of several novels: Anything Goes, In My Sisters' Corner, Apple Tree, Sweet Revenge, Fatal Desire, Unfinished Business, editor of the best-selling anthology, Erogenous Zone: A Sexual Voyage, contributing author to the best-selling anthology, The Triumph of My Soul edited by Elissa Gabrielle, with her short story “Julian’s Grace,” and Loving Simone. Jessica will release her ninth novel, Crossing Sisters, on April 5, 2011.

With the release of her debut novel, Anything Goes, in 2001, Jessica launched Xpress Yourself Publishing, LLC with the intention of solely publishing her own work. However, because of her love of literature and helping others obtain their dreams, she opened the doors of Xpress Yourself Publishing to aspiring authors. Xpress Yourself Publishing has grown into a flourishing publishing house, and in 2008 received the African American Literary Award for “Independent Publisher of the Year.” Visit www.xpressyourselfpublishing.com for more information.

Also in 2001, Jessica launched The Writer’s Assistant, a virtual assistant providing consultation, typesetting, book cover design, editing and desktop publishing services for authors and publishers. In 2010, The Writer’s Assistant became TWA Solutions & Services, LLC; a company providing quality publishing services and business solutions to local agencies, as well as commercial and private sectors.

In 2008, Jessica took over as publisher and editor-in-chief of Erotic Expressions Magazine. In 2010, the publication was transformed into e-Lit Magazine (www.elitmagazine.com), an online magazine for lovers of literature. Jessica uses this publication to promote literacy and fellow authors.

Jessica is also ranked #84 in Heather Covington’s Top 100 Literary Divas (Amber Communications).

In addition to her many accomplishments, Jessica is a staff writer for Black Men In America.com, has contributed the article “Third Shift Blues” to Black Romance Magazine, and is the recipient of the Memphis Black Writer’s Guild’s Rising Star award, and the Jackson Mississippi Reader’s Clubs’ Outstanding Contributor to Literature award.
