Something About Me and My Book:: I've written three mysteries in the Anastasia Raven series, News from Dead Mule Swamp, The Hollow Tree at Dead Mule Swamp, and Paddy Plays in Dead Mule Swamp. All are available at Smashwords and Amazon. I'm working on the next one: Bury the Hatchet in Dead Mule Swamp.

I am the first woman to hike the entire North Country National Scenic Trail, having completed my quest in August 2010. I have written the first book by a hiker of that trail, North Country Cache, and am working on the sequel which will chronicle the rest of the walk.

I've also had several short stories accepted for publication, and write a monthly column for the local newspaper.

I never knew how many families suffer from alcohol and drug addiction until I started speaking to the public and privately to the addicts. I'm in the process of trying to pass a National law to modify the Patient Privacy Act.

The disease isn't a cheerful subject but the abuser can be. Lori had brought a lot of joy into my life with her laughter and gave me two beautiful grandchildren.

There really can be a happy topic with my two books. God gave me a loving, out-going child for 39 years. There were no upsets until her last two years. We had so many happy moments and she laughed all the time. She had a great sense of humor until her life was run by this demon, this killer. Lori left me two wonderful grandchildren: Joe who is a Marine, 23 years old, going to Afghanistan April 29th, keep him in your prayers, and Meagan 22 years old. She's studying to be an RN and a counselor in substance abuse.

Both my alcoholic books were nominated for the "Editor's Choice Award" from Allbook Reviews of Canada.

I hope you have the desire to read them.
