Something About Me and My Book:
Author Biography

John Hachmann was born in Laredo, Texas but lived a great part of his life in San Antonio, Texas. From an early age he loved music. When he received his first guitar, he started learning songs. In 1962 he wrote and sang a semi-hit song. From that moment on he spent his energy writing country and western songs and playing in various bands.

He lived in Denver a while but finally settled in College Station, Texas. He moved to Austin, Texas 8 years ago with his wife of 36 years and loves it.

Last year he dabbled in poetry and actually won an honorable mention in the national contest with one of his poems.

About three years ago he started to become interested in writing. One day he just started writing a love/war story on his computer. The words came easy and he really enjoyed writing the first book, "The Tears of Destiny".

When he finished the book, he decided right then and there that he should become an author. He really enjoys writing fiction books as an escape for himself; however, if he can bring pleasure and enjoyment to someone else in his writings, it would make him very happy.

His second book, "The Dark Water Murders" is a 360 page murder mystery with quite a few twists. There will be a book two and he has included the first chapter of book two in the end of book one.

His third book, “Journey into Peril” is a 358 page epic adventure about the struggles that pioneers faced in 1868 traveling across the United States in wagon trains. As in previous books, he included the first chapter of the sequel to this book, at the end of the book.

He hopes to write many more books and, in fact, is almost through his the sequel to “The Dark Water Murders”. Also to come is a novel about the Civil War and the ‘old south’, and a modern day love story set close to Martha’s Vineyard.

He hopes he can send people into the world of make believe and help them to escape the everyday strains of life. If he can do that then he feels that he has accomplished something.

New book

The seguel to "The Dark Water Murders" will be out soon. I have decided not to go to Publish America but find a small press company who will at least help push the publicity. The first book sold well and my readers are asking when the sequel will be coming out. The manuscript is totally ready but I would like to change my direction in life so I can get my books out to the broad public, which is why I write in the first place. Anyway, I just wanted to make the announcement.

You guys… Continue

Good morning

Does anyone have any connections for getting a book to a movie? I have two novels that I want to send in for possible movies but I have zero connections in that industry. I just though someone might have experience in this area.

Thanks and have a great day

Books

Hello all. I am proud that I have three books out now and a forth is ready for printing. I have three books in three different genre's. The first is titled 'The Tears of Destiny' and is a war/love novel about the start of World War II.

The second is a murder mystery on a small lake in upstate New York. The third is a wagon train adventure in 1868. The forth is the sequel to the murder mystery. I am holding off sending that to Publish America until I talk to a few agents, or I should say… Continue

Agents

Is it just my imagination that every agent I query is simply too busy to listen to what I have to say. This also means that they are all making too much money to consider making any more. Maybe I should become an agent instead of write books.

I know that most authors have the same problem. You just have to keep on truckin' and not let it get to you. However, it should not be that way. All we want is to be heard by someone and not just brushed aside like some trash out there.

I know I… Continue

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The blessings we ask for this season
Aren't the kind that come wrapped with a bow;
We're asking for gifts from the heart,
Ones we need and never outgrow.
May we see in these bright decorations
With their colors and lights all aglow,
The beauty and wonder of life
That God's world was created to show.
Let the peace and goodwill of this season
Be feelings that we can extend
Far into the following year
To our neighbors, our family, and friends.
Most of all, may we always remember
To open our hearts every day and share all the love and the joy
In a special and meaningful way.

Hey John,

Nice to e-meet you as well.
My novel, Janeology, is a psychological thriller that explores the life and crimes of one woman via her genetic inheritance. At least...that's what I think it is. :)

Best,
