Hi, Linda.
Enjoy BEA. It is the most exciting book event in the US. I am unable to attend this year because of family commitments. I'll be living BEA vicariously this year through other people's blogs and twitters. I get tingles down my spine as I read the articles in newsletters, magazines and blogs leading up to BEA. You will have a terrific time. It should be a valuable opportunity to make industry connections.
Yes, B&N, Borders and Books-a-Million will be there. None of the large bookstore chains are doing well financially, however. it will limit their presence and influence at BEA. You may want to meet with Marcella Smith, Barnes & Noble's Director of Small Press Relations. She is a valuable resource to small publishers. She has helped many publishers get distribution in B&N.
Have a wonderful time in NYC. I am envious of you being there.
