Something About Me and My Book:
I write in wonderful Wisconsin.
My books include a cozy mystery series, releasing in spring 2012 from MuseItUp, (The Buried Treasure series, originally published by Barbour), the award-winning Meander Scar (BlackLyon) and A Summer in Oakville, September 2011 (BlackLyon). I'm the editor of Creative Wisconsin, the literary magazine of Wisconsin Writers Association, and of OtherSheep, the weirdly wonderful magazine from Written-World Communications. Blurb from cozy mystery The Gold Standard:

ISBN: 13: 978-1-59789-525-5

School teacher Judy Winters sets out to solve the mystery surrounding her only living relative’s murder back on the farm where Aunt Louise grew up. She encounters Hart Wingate, a young man renting the adjoining farm who had helped Aunt Louise with farm chores. When Judy learns that her boyfriend, Graham, has been secretly visiting Louise, Judy takes the opportunity to move away from him for the summer and think over the situation.
Judy loves her teaching job, but is intrigued by her heritage in the farmstead and particularly the old house. She stays on the farm and renovates the house, but whether to sell or stay, she has yet to decide.
Midnight visitors, a job offer, and new friends, along with one special old one—Carranza, the opinionated cat—all figure into Judy’s dilemma.
Meanwhile, Judy learns that a former friend of Louise’s father, Bryce, lost a treasure of gold somewhere on the farm. As Judy and Hart look for clues to the cause of Louise’s death and Bryce’s missing treasure they develop a close friendship. Judy decides to break off her relationship with Graham, who doesn’t take the news very well.
As Judy explores the house, she finds and follows clues in Louise’s mother’s diary to unearth the buried treasure. But was it the treasure that might have been behind Louise’s murder?

It takes another sick man and his little boy to help her fight her way out of self-pity into the light of redemption. But will her new friends stick with her when they discover her secret?

Ted Marshall wanted to be more than Grace’s landlord. But a dying man has no business asking a woman like to her love him back. Can he settle for a taste of her faith in whatever it is that makes her so special?

Just when Ted and Grace begin to hope for the future, Ted relapses. Grace faces the ultimate choice once again: Trusting God to work through her precious gift, or letting a terminally ill man die. What if the price is more than she can pay?

“Deep roots are not reached by the frost.” Mark has loved Ann forever. She was the only one who supported him when his own family was unavailable. Through gentle wooing, Mark convinces Ann that his dream of happiness for them can come true. Together they face disapproving family members and the legal maneuverings of Gene’s elite family. In a bizarre twist of fate, Ann learns what happened to her husband. How can she tell the truth when it may ruin more lives--hers included?
“From the ashes a fire shall be woken.” Just when Ann and Mark overcome the last hurdle, their lives hit the hardest rock of all. Now it's Mark's turn to be truthful to Ann, himself, and the faith he professes.

Co-Authoring experience

If anyone's thought about co-authoring, I'd be glad to talk about it with you. Shellie Neumeier and I co-wrote and sold a novel during the course of this year. It's now available: A Summer in Oakville.

We talk about the experience…

A Desert Breeze eBook

Wow, forgot I was reading there for a moment when I happened to look away from the screen. Rats—time for the season ending episode of my second-favorite television show. With the recorder on the blink, I have to watch in real time, or I would have kept reading.
