I have worked as a teacher, analyst and sales rep and spent 18 years living in the DC Metro area before moving back to small town life. My coauthor, Maggie, managed her ex-husband’s medical office, and has held varying positions in the medical support arena. Emotional and verbal abuse survivors we each raised our children as a single parent and would definitely say helping their daughters develop into wonderful young women has been our proudest accomplishment. Chicken Nachos is our tale and our mission is helping women in similar circumstance recognize their own strengths. Chicken Nachos follows the lives of Ann and Maggie as they lose touch with reality; traveling further and further into a life of denial and abuse. Their lessons along the way will provide a unique perspective on emotionally abusive relationships. Merely a silly fable or a much-needed wake-up call, Chicken Nachos is both entertaining and sobering. However, for anyone who is, has been, or even wonders if they are in an abusive relationship it is a must read!

Good to hear from you, Lori. You are correct about the approachability of celebrities and authors. As a feature writer for a paper in the metro Atlanta area for over 15 years, I met and interviewed a multitude of them (athletes, politicians, movie stars, country music singers, comedians, an astronaut, etc.) and never had a bad encounter. I thoroughly enjoyed those days.
