Something About Me and My Book:
Hello, Michael Bethune here and I pray that all is well. I'd like to share with you that which God has given me to help equip the church to do a better job of reaching the "less fortunate" of this world. Please view the brief video below and contact me if you believe that I might be able to assist your church or organization by facilitating a workshop, conference or seminar based on my new book's content - for your leadership, organizational staff, students or members. You probably should also read the "my journey" page on my website [michaelbethune.com] to better understand why it is that God led me to write this kind of book. Be blessed, and thanks for taking the time to hear me out - I hope to hear from you. - MB

Excerpt from: "Unto the Lease of These"

"When carefully examined we find in Matthew 25:31- 46 that Jesus makes an eye-opening and even dreadful connection between the church’s treatment of the marginalized and oppressed groups and its own standing with God at the final judgment. In essence, the point that Jesus makes in verses 41-46 is that our treatment of the “least of these” in society will be a major influencing factor in the determination of our eternal standing with God when our physical lives are over on this earth. For certain you will rarely, if ever, hear this passage of scripture presented in this context, yet there is no way of escaping its truth. I can remember being at a conference in New Jersey some time ago and hearing Pastor Bill Hybels of Willowcreek Church in South Barrington, IL say that he believes that “the local church is the hope of the world.” I too strongly believe this, but only to the extent that the local church allows itself to be moved with compassion beyond the boundaries of its own four walls and “perceived” polished image. When the church begins to share the life changing and soul saving hope and power that we find in Jesus the Christ with those in society who have no hope, then the church will begin to be the church that Jesus intended for it to be, and not until then. Happy Valentine’s Day! Live More, Laugh Much, Love Often!!!

"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition."
