Mosquito Marketing for Authors is now available!

I have had some success marketing my businesses and books and people are always asking me how I self-published an award winning book that is a consistent best seller in its category, so I decided to write a book about it. The different between publicity and marketing… Continue

Top 5 things I learned at the Book Expo of America 2010

There was so much talk about how this years BEA was going to be smaller, less attended by industry vendors and visitors and so much less of a networking experience than previous years because of the smaller size. It is true that there was only one floor of the Javits Center this year and less people but I found that to be to my advantage. Less booths to visit, so more time talking to the folks I wanted to talk to, less crowds to get through and a much more relaxed… Continue

Book Expo of American 2010

How many of you are planning on attending the BEA in NY for 2010?
What do you hope to gain from attending?

I am attending again this year and am hoping to meet some publishers, PR people and marketing people, authors and friends I have met with in the past at BEA. I am also hoping to meet the publishers who have sent me contracts to look over and possibly get another publishing contract.

Let me know if you will be there and share your tips for success!

Great to hear you are willing to participate in my Twitter interview. We can do it Monday morning if you wish, but you might want some time to promote it. I'm on Pacific time, so just let me know what's good for you. I might suggest the middle or the end of next week. What do you think?

I've tried using exerpts from my book occasionally. Maybe I'll try a bit harder. Thanks

You're right, there is a lot of buzz about vampires in the fiction industry right now. Finding how to capitalize on it for a new author is a bit more difficult though.

Great job on answering the questions! I put in a follow request at your Twitter site. Just let me know what day and time you want to try this interview process. The plan is for us to ask each other the same questions. Also we can make our own comments via Tweats, and RT's, and open it up to all Twitter friends for questions. Bye for now...Gary

Thank you for your interest in my Twitter idea. Okay here are some questions that we could ask each other on Twitter. Let me know what you think. Also you might want to write out short responses to them,so you can paste them easily on Twitter for your response. This is a draft. Feel free to make any changes you want:

#1. Please introduce yourself to our Twitter friends and what is the title of your book? (Bio stuff)

#2. Will you tell us a little about your book?

#3. Why did you write it?

#4. Why should people buy it?

#5. How can people find out more about it today?

So that's it for now. Namaste....Gary.
